Job Purpose The main purpose of the role is to develop and maintain business relationships with SME and / or complex customers / distributors in order to understand their insurance requirements and to sell appropriate insurance products.
You will identify and maximize cross selling opportunities and generate a sales pipeline by prospecting for new clients to ensure future sales opportunities and growth.
Main Accountability : You will..
Work on your own initiative taking responsibility for achieving significant annual sales targets across pre-defined products through single or multiple sales channels as defined by the requirements of the County’s sales strategy.
Build relationships across the insurance / business community to be able to identify and maximise sales opportunities arising with multiple clients in large and / or more complex environments, receiving sales enquiries and responding to tender requests, converting tenders into sales of the company’s products to meet agreed annual sales targets.
Work with the underwriting teams to ensure all enquiries are accompanied by a full and complete presentation of underwriting information, competitor’s rates / terms / conditions if available and any other commercial / political information for consideration of underwriters and / or reinsurers.
Develop and maintain excellent relations with SME and / or key customers where the consequence of poor customer care could have a significant impact on the achievement of sales targets.
The role will provide high levels of post sale support as required ensuring customer satisfaction all the time.
Be accountable for proactively prospecting for new clients and new business opportunities and / or new distribution channels.
You will be accountable for sharing prospects and business development leads through the effective utilisation of the Company’s Prospect Data Base available in the form of Quote Register, New Business Leads and Leads from Personal Lines to generate sales prospects.
Ensure insurance premium is collected in line with the Company’s terms of business liaising with credit control to minimise outstanding debt.
Be responsible for ensuring effective management and organisation of sales records and ensures effective analysis of such records to supplement the sales planning process.
Be accountable for the provision of operational support as required by Account Executives.
Be responsible for performing any other related duties as required to support the activities and overall strategic directions in order to ensure the profitability of the company.
Minimum Requirements :
Sound knowledge & experience of Sales / Negotiation techniques.
Good knowledge & experience of account management / relationship building techniques.
Detailed knowledge of multiple insurance products across the job holder’s portfolio, competitors and competitor insurance products and pricing approaches.
Tertiary education / Degree is required.
More than 3 years experience in direct sales.
A Driving License is mandatory for this role.
