Off-Site catering is an art and a science. The art is creating foods and moods, as the caterer and client together turn a vision into reality.

The science is the business of measuring money, manpower, and material. Successful off-Site caterers recognize the importance of both aspects-

art and science-and are able to work at both the creative and the financial levels.

Off-Site caterers meet the needs of all market segments, from the low-budget customer who looks for the greatest quantity and quality for the least amount of money, to the upscale client with an unlimited budget who wants the highest level of service, the ultimate in food quality, and the finest in appointments-

crystal stemware, silver-plated flatware, and luxurious linens

In off-Site catering , there is only one chance to get it right. Many events, such as wedding receptions, occur only once in a lifetime.

Other events are scheduled annually, quarterly, or on a regular basis.

Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following :

  • To positively contribute to the sales activities within your department / hotel and maximize sales opportunities and to be knowledgeable of company products.
  • To give full cooperation to any client or colleagues requiring assistance in a prompt, caring and helpful manner.
  • To treat all client and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner at all time.
  • Sets clear personal development targets which focus on behavioral improvement as much as professional / technical skills.
  • To achieve action points arising out of 6 month appraisal.
  • To demonstrate a pride in workplace and a high level of commitment.
  • To strive to anticipate client needs wherever possible and react to these to enhance client satisfaction.
  • To be flexible in assisting around different areas of the hotel in response to business and client needs.
  • Critically evaluate one’s own performance and consistently sets high standard.
  • Willing to share freely knowledge information, ideas and experience to assist others.
  • Work with and supports others as part of team both within and across functions
  • Understands the needs to work together to create an environment of cooperation and mutual responsibility.
  • Shows awareness / sensitivity / tolerance towards cultural differences by moderating own cultural behaviors.
  • Proactively initiates change in the workplace to achieve improvement in quality or efficiency.
  • To attend training sessions and meeting when required and to operate in line with the training or information received.
  • To move into this position you should have

  • Tenure in current position minimum one year
  • Excellent command of the English language speaking, reading and writing
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Multiple language ability, an advantage
  • Smart in appearance and well groomed
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Hotel / High school or equivalent education required
  • Micros knowledge would an advantage
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage
  • Thorough knowledge of food products
  • Multiple shifts with long hours should be expected
