A global energy business are looking torecruit an International Tax Manager to join their Sharjah basedteam. The aspects of the role are to support the delivery of thetax and transfer pricing (TP) strategy for the group.

Accountabilities : Proactively partner with business teams todeliver commercial, practical and forward-looking tax advice forinternational projects throughout their life cycle.

This covers alltaxes including direct, indirect and employment taxes for new bids,new country entries, strategic initiatives, ongoing contracts,corporate structuring and other ad-hoc tax advice.

Review andassess all material transactions from a tax perspective and ensurethat tax risks and mitigations are effectively communicated tomanagement and the relevant risk committee(s).

Assist in the reviewand development of the group's TP policies, supportingcurrent tax strategy across the group. Ensure that TP policies areunderstood and properly implemented by the business units.

  • Assess,update and develop the group's TP Master File and other TPmaster documentation, ensuring it effectively supports thegroup'
  • s tax strategy. Support the business units with theirpreparation of local TP documentation, reports and disclosures,ensuring consistency with the group'
  • s TP masterdocumentation. Support the business units in engaging and workingwith external TP advisers. Monitor the preparation and completionof local TP documentation by the business units.

    Support taxplanning activities, e.g. recharging central costs, APAapplications, new country entries, new bids, tax management ofongoing projects, etc.

    Proactively assess tax and TP risks andopportunities for the group and ensure these are effectivelycommunicated to all stakeholders.

    Provide support on tax and TPaudit and controversy matters. Support the half-year and year-endtax provision process and compliance / reporting cycle.

  • Activelysupport the development and enhancement of processes, systems andcontrols : Implementation of Tax Governance Standard;
  • Maintenance ofthe Group Tax Risk Register; Generally, identify and implement taxprocess improvements including automation.
