Job Role : Tax Compliance Advisor

Key Responsibilities will include :

Ourclient - a large local bank in the UAE is looking to recruit a TaxCompliance Advisor Reporting position that will be reportingdirectly to Head Compliance Advisory & Regulatory in theirHO Abu Dhabi.

  • To provide taxcompliance advice and act as a subject matter expert to the bankand its subsidiaries on applicable tax regimes in all jurisdictions(EU Tax, US FATCA, UK FATCA, CRS) and implement tax relatedrequirements including designing, continually improving anddelivering bank policies;
  • procedures; reviewing products andservices in order to ensure compliance with international taxregulatory requirements and common reporting standards.

  • Review, interpret and analyse existing, new and amendedregulations related to different tax regimes to ensure compliance,applicability and implementation throughout the bank'
  • sbranches and subsidiaries.

  • Engage in andinitiate cross-functional discussions in order to design andexecute implementation roadmaps which are in line with projectgovernance and management guidelines and meet regulatory taxrequirements.
  • Perform detailed analysis,interpretation of analysis and review of entities within the Groupin order to determine applicability of tax requirements.
  • Provide regular updates, strategic direction and act assubject matter expert to senior management / relevant steeringcommittees to inform them on compliance status, obtain buy-in torecommendations, escalate issues and seek guidance.
  • Design, develop and implement a Tax Compliance monitoringprogram to identify deficiencies in processes, systems andprocedures;
  • perform tax compliance checks and recommend correctiveactions to ensure that any tax non-compliance is addressed and alltax related reporting submissions are done on timelybasis.

  • Design / deliver tax compliance trainingand provide coaching to internal stakeholders to ensure awarenessof applicable tax and reporting regulations in relation toapplicable Tax regimes.
  • Manage relationshipswith internal stakeholders at levels, including Group Heads andSteering Committee members, to ensure alignment to changes andsecure cross-functional buy-in.
  • RequiredSkills

  • Atleast 10 years of experience in banking, accounting or financialservices sector with at least 5 years of experience in a taxrelated role.
  • Knowledge of EU Tax, US FATCA,UK FATCA and CRS.
  • Knowledge of XML and otherreporting formats.
  • Knowledge of internationalbanking and taxation best practice.
  • Banking / finance knowledge and practical implementationexperience must include, but is not limited to, products,processes, policies, transactions, systems anddocumentation.
