Demi Chef De Partie The incumbent in this position is responsible for preparing, presenting, storing and serving a selection of dishes
Key Responsibilities :
Help to direct, control and co-ordinate the activities of all Chefs and kitchen attendants, engaged in preparing and cooking food, so as to ensure an efficient, profitable and smooth food service, at all times.
Inspect storerooms, refrigerators and freezers daily, to prevent wastage.
In absence of Manager, conduct shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
Cook and prepare and serve dishes according to the restaurant’s menu.
Provide direction to the Kitchen helpers, including Commis, Cooks, Kitchen Attendants and Stewards.
Clean and re-set their working area.
Conducting on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintaining a record of progress for each staff member.
Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.
Desired Skills & Qualifications :
Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar position
Preferably in an international, luxury five-star hotel
English - excellent communication skills
Any additional language skills of benefit
