Job Description and Requirements


To support Tuboscope’s Coating Product Line on a technical basis in Tuboscope’s MENA Region, by working with Tuboscope operations and sales, having local account responsibility, and interacting with customers.

This position requires a specific knowledge of Tuboscope’s Coating and Lining products and marketing techniques


o Provide product training, individual meetings and presentations regarding Tuboscope coating technology for individual customers as well as at industry events.

o Support regional sales and operations staff with technical meetings, presentations and demonstrations.

o Responsible for securing and renewing market data to improve sales opportunities.

o Maintain tools required to promote sales programs and efforts in all territories.

o Develop and maintain specific accounts for the purpose of support and sales of Tuboscope’s Coating Product Line

o Follow-up with customers after the sale. Maintain good public relations with frequent communications.

o Maintain good public relations with other oil-related companies and establish familiarity with competitors' services / products.

o Establish and maintain communication lines with other area and region sales representatives.

o Assume other responsibilities as required.


Contributing to the Company’s goal through the technical support and sale of products and services in the coating product line.

The primary responsibility of this position is to represent the company in a professional manner. The primary objective is achievement of assigned goals for the coating product line within designated geographic territories.

The representative will interact with technical and engineering type customer base including Engineering Companies, E&P Companies, Drilling Contractors, Rental Companies, etc.

As required by needs, technical sales presentations are developed and presented to further account relationships.

In addition to their personal sales effort, the representative will support and assist field sales representatives in obtaining orders.

The representative will not have the authority to set price, delivery, credit or conditions of sale of services without the prior approval from management.

The representative will support and assist field sales representatives to consolidate and forecast sales and services for their territory.

Collection and communication of accurate competitive market information to marketing function is a key accountability of the representative's function as customer technical support.

The representative's nature and scope of the position require the individual to be a self-starter, keep abreast of the current trends within the geographic market area, and interface with customers to affect desired company objectives.

During the 3 to 8 months training period, travel of up to 50>

might be required. Once the training is completed and the individual is set in the region, travel should be limited to less than 30>


The Sales Representative has extensive contact with oil field personnel in representing the company’s services / products.

The incumbent works closely with area and region managers in coordinating customer service activity and maintains good communications with other area and region sales representatives.


  • Knowledge of basic oil field technology.
  • Basic knowledge of the technology behind protective coatings.
  • Ability to initiate customer contacts.
  • Skill in communicating with customer personnel.
  • Skill in report writing.
  • Skill in interpersonal relationships.

  • The Technical Support Representative position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with a basic understanding of corrosion control methods.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
  • Good communication and presentation skill are necessary.
  • MENA customers experience an advantage
