Role of SchoolEvaluator
Recordobservations and make educational judgements during the course ofan evaluation visit.
Provide to other teammembers summary translations of key documents submitted by theschool during an evaluation.
Assembleobservations and judgements into written findings that can be usedto assemble an evaluation report.
Givefeedback to the school at the end of the evaluationvisit.
Conduct thematic reviews andevaluations relating to a specified focus area and / or curriculumexpertise.
Prepare pre-evaluationdocumentation based on review of documentation, share theinformation with the evaluation team and address any issuesarising.
Draft high quality evaluationreports.
Provide feedback on all team membersor lead evaluator as required.
Contribute tothe development and implementation of the department'sprogrammes, as required.
Contribute to theprofessional training of evaluators as directed by the managementof the department.
Skills of SchoolEvaluator
Planning and Organizing : Anticipate and overcome obstacles and develop a contingency plan toaddress them. Take necessary corrective action when plans gooff-track
Problem Solving and Decision Making : Recognize, analyze, and solve problems using a logical approach.Quickly understand the nature of the problem and developalternative solutions
Flexibility andAdaptability : Respond positively to the demands and expectations ofthe role, particularly during the evaluation visits.
These mightrequire working extra time, tight deadlines and visits to schoolsin different areas in the UAE, as scheduled.
Functional Domain Expertise : Provide domain knowledgeexpertise and support as required for the department projects andoperations in order to resolve the problem at hand and supportdepartments overall objectives
Communication : Interact with people (Verbal & Written) openly and directlyand accurately convey opinion in different circumstances toinfluence and persuade
TechnicalSolutions / plan : Design solutions based on specialised knowledge forthe defined subject related issues and problems in thedepartment / project in order to meet department goals andobjectives.
Conflict Management andNegotiation : Consider conflict as a 'creative'process to find solutions and opportunities to grow and appreciateothers'
differences. Conduct complex negotiations at thehighest level
Requirements needed for SchoolEvaluator
Masters inEducation or related field is preferred
ABachelor's degree in Education or related field
5 years relevant experience
Anunderstanding and experience of school improvement
An understanding of school evaluationapproaches
Fluent in written and spokenEnglish
