What you will be doing :

  • Be very well versed with handling the Opera systemand be totally familiar with all aspects of the reservationsystems.
  • Identify guest reservation needs byasking open-ended questions to obtain all necessaryinformation
  • Answer guest questions aboutproperty facilities / services (e.g., hours of operation, roomavailability, restricted dates, rates and room types, packages,promotions, entertainment, restaurants, special events).
  • Post advance deposits and keep accurate records ofdeposits.
  • Process rooming lists and groupblocks and indicate special requests and billing procedures and befamiliar with changes in the rates and group enquiries.
  • File and process reservations correspondence, makecertain all files are current and in order.
  • Have knowledge of Front desk, Sales and Accounts departments andhow they relate to the Reservations department.
  • To be aware of inventory management and keep a constantcheck on the room types available throughout the day
  • To have an understanding of departmental goals andprojections for average rate and occupancy
  • Accommodate and document special requests in an accurate andefficient manner.
  • Determine the mostappropriate room type to meet guest requirements and maximize roomrate.
  • Use sales techniques when assistingguests in making reservations, including personalizing calls,obtaining complete guest needs, suggesting alternate dates ordirecting guests to sister properties on sold out days.
  • Explain guarantee and cancellation policies to callersand assign confirmation / cancellation numbers and clearly relay thisinformation to callers, giving them the option of emailing and / orfaxing these numbers.
  • Follow "upselling" techniques and sales strategies in order tomaximize property revenue.
  • Identify repeatguests using appropriate codes.
  • Be familiarwith the operational procedures of all equipment in the kitchen andoperate them in the correct manner to ensure the maximum efficiencyand personal safety.
  • Participate in regularmeetings and briefings as scheduled.
  • Understand and abide by all safety rules, emergency procedures andfire prevention regulations.
  • Participate inany scheduled training and development programs that may improvepersonal or departmental standards.
  • Reportto duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and nametag.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearanceand hygiene.
  • Carry out other duties asassigned.
