We operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-

staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.

The Center Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the USO Center in Dubai.

  • Meet, greet and welcome guests, and orient and assist them with center amenities, tours, classes, programs, and services, and provide vendor advice and complaint resolution services.*
  • Monitor and maintain all site buildings and ensure that their activity and lounge areas are well-maintained, clean, and ready and available for use.
  • Ensure that all equipment is clean and well-functioning. Enforce adherence to all sanitary and food-handling regulations.*

  • Monitor and maintain readiness, availability, and cleanliness of the activity and lounge areas and monitor and ensure operability for all facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to sanitary and food-handling regulations.*

  • Assis in budget preparation and ensure the center operates within budgetary guidelines. Manage cash on hand and maintain an inventory of supplies and assets.
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing and presenting reports on finance, operations, and other areas.*

  • Manage daily activities and document procedures and activities related to managing the center and its operations.*
  • Manage local Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP) activities e.g., ensure staff, volunteers, and vendors comply with the EPP, report damage, destruction or injury to the center and its assets, and conduct Employee Accountability Checks.*
  • Oversee USO vendors. Develop, improve and maintain working relationships with USO vendors, local contractors and US Navy Fire and Safety in Bahrain.*
  • Assist with programs and events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years work experience in a property management role, including 1+ years in a supervisory capacity. Relevant experience in a not-
  • for-profit, military, multicultural and / or global organization preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
  • English reading / writing / speaking fluency and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and / or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.

  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math and follow proper cash / donation handling and reporting procedures, business / accounting functions including project management and budget reconciliation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and / or background screening, SOFA status.
  • Valid UAE driver’s license or ability to obtain one and ability to drive manual or standard transmission on an SUV or industrial van.
  • Must be a strong advocate of the USO’s mission.
  • U.S. Passport holder preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to arrange a personal schedule to meet operational demands due to irregular hours (i.e., late evenings, early mornings, weekends and holidays) and frequently-changing workflows.
  • Conversational Hindi preferred.
  • Ability to supervise vendors.
