About the Role
Work in avariety of Food & Beverage environments including indoor and outdoorconditions, as well as exposure to smoky environments and harsh variations inweather conditions.
Some heavy liftingmay be required while on duty.
Main Duties :
Identify customer needs andexpectations correctly, including those with special needs, and provideappropriate products, services or information.
Meet all reasonableneeds and requests of customers within acceptable enterprise time frames.
Identify and takeall opportunities to enhance the quality of service.
Recognize customerdissatisfaction promptly and take action to resolve the situation according toindividual level of responsibility and MJ customer feedback / complaintprocedures.
Offer assistance to colleagues whenrequired, to ensure designated work goals are met.
Demonstrate trust, support andrespect towards team members in day-to-day work activities.
Conduct communication with customersand colleagues in a polite, professional and friendly manner.
Practice high standards of personalpresentation in accordance with JI & MJ Grooming & PresentationStandards
Seek assistance from other teammembers, supervisors and managers when required.
Ensures hostess desk / door is mannedat all times so that all customers receive a friendly & prompt welcome.
Schedule dining reservations andarranges parties or special services for customers according to the RestaurantReservations SOP.
Actively uses the standards detailedin F&B Enquiry / Booking Checklist when taking Restaurant enquiries orbookings.
Greets guests, and escorts them totables, and provides menus.
Knowledgeable of all in-houseservices as well as local information and be able to assist guests whenquestioned.
Has a working knowledge of thedining room layout, table numbers, stations and colleagues working during eachshift.
Familiar enough with the menu toanswer any questions the guests may have and should inform guests of anyspecials at time of seating.
Answers telephone within 3 ringsusing the JI Standard script.
Demonstrates a sound knowledge ofall menu items, MJ F&B Service procedures and JI Hygiene Standards.
Immediately shares guest name torelevant service staff directly after seating.
Informs staff of any specific guestrequest or needs
Fully certified in the use ofEpicure Restaurant Reservation system
Responsible for the collection andinput of any relevant guest history in profile
Ensures a proper capture of allguest source data (in-house, local residents, outside tourist, SBU) andconsolidate per shift.
Review the notice board and outletbriefing sheets on a daily basis to be well informed of hotel events, cityinformation, sold-
out items, daily specials and any other information that maybe relevant to the job.
Complete cleaning, opening &closing checklists when instructed by senior colleagues.
Assist in recording inventories / stock-takes as required.
Ensures that all menus, wine listsand dock presenters are clean and in top condition.
Demonstrate knowledge of individualcontribution to department objectives.
Attend training sessions asscheduled.
Suggest to manager or departmentaltrainer any training needed to enhance performance.
Perform side duties includingfolding napkins, rolling silverware, cleaning trays, restocking shelves,filling ice bins, cleaning and breaking down service area, using cleaningcompounds, and other duties as required.
Report any possible theft or misuseof Resort property immediately to a member of management.
Carry out any other reasonable duties asassigned by the Outlet Manager / Assistant Manager / Team Leader or SeniorManagement.
Complete a course in hospitality industry.
2 years restaurant experience in a 5 star hotel
Knowledge of Food and Beverage applications (Epicure, Micros)
Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office
