In addition to teaching and scholarlyrequirements, faculty are expected to provide service to theCollege and to the University;
to participate in the development,evaluation and revision of the college curriculum; to participatein the implementation of assessment of major learning outcomes;
andactively engage in research activities leading to the publicationof peer-reviewed articles and / or books in their area ofspecialization.
Faculty liaise extensively with externalconstituents to further the mission of the University within thecommunity
Successful candidates will fully meet the expectations for theposition, which include :
A Ph.D. inIslamic Studies (Usul al-din, Usul al-fiqh, Ethics, History ofArabic Sciences and Philosophy or any related discipline).
A proven record of excellence atbaccalaureate-level teaching
Dedication to curricular innovation
Record of professional accomplishment includingpeer-reviewed publications and / or presentations
Commitment to a sustained research program andinterest in collaboration with other Faculty
Demonstrated ability to integrate web-basedand / or digital technology in the classroom
Willingness to provide service to theUniversity and the College
Experience with graduate programs would be anasset
Proven capacity to teach bothnative and non-native Arabic speakers
Familiarity, and prior experience with, the USmodel of general education is desirable
