Brief Outline of Job :

To effectively manage the Dubai Mall store in order to maximise sales, drive operational efficiency and deliver an enriched customer experience aligned to the company strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Customer Service & Selling

  • Accountable for ensuring the Dubai Mall store team deliver an enriched customer experience aligned to the company strategy partnering with the Client Services Manager and Training and Content team regularly as it develops and evolves
  • Engage, develop and maintain key relationships with existing and new clients with a focus on HNWIs
  • Work with the Retail Operations Manager and Client Services Manager to deliver and champion the use of the Mulberry Clientele App in store
  • Partner with Marketing and Press teams to deliver in store events, acting as the host for existing and new clients with a focus on VIPs
  • Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics and communicate this to relevant departments in the company
  • Operations

  • Partner with the Retail Operations Manager and Commercial Manager to plan, forecast, report on sales and business performance and other business KPIs as required by the business
  • Partner with the Retail Operations Manager and Store Operations Manager to review the P&L and report on cost looking at ways to minimise and make savings where possible
  • Oversee costs and overheads on all factors affecting the profitable performance of the store
  • Work with the merchandising team and utilise support from merchandisers as required to maximise sales opportunities
  • Oversee, maintain and report as necessary on all merchandise / stock for stocktake and ongoing.
  • Oversee the management of the cash and payment systems in accordance with company procedures and policies at all times.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of the store merchandising, layout and customer traffic flow to maximise sales, customer satisfaction, appearance, image and ergonomics for customers
  • Oversee implementation of the standard of Visual Merchandising (VM) in line with Mulberry VM guidelines.
  • Ensure the upkeep, cleanliness and condition of all equipment, fixtures in store / concession.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the effectiveness of IT and other essential in store systems.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy as required
  • Liaise with internal and external authorities as necessary Marketing, HR, Recruitment, Retail operations, Fire Services and Police
  • Support the store’s shrink plan by following operational best practices and seasonal shrink focus’s
  • Ensure Health and Safety, security and emergency systems and staff capabilities are reviewed on a regular basis
  • People / Brand Focus

  • Manage motivate and develop employees through training and coaching
  • Manage employee disciplinary according to company policies (Employee Handbook) and law
  • Ensure relevant HR procedures are followed i.e. appraisals, discipline, grievance etc.
  • Develop personal skills through training as provided by Mulberry or by an external provider subject to company approval
  • Demonstrates and understands the Mulberry values and behaviours
  • Acts as an ambassador for the Mulberry brand and exhibits passion in all aspects of the role
  • Engages with key stakeholders across the business to develop positive and productive relationships
  • Communicates positively about the brand at all times
  • Skills and Knowledge :

  • Experience working in a Store or Area Manager role for a luxury brand or in a luxury environment
  • An existing network of clients based in the Middle East
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Passion to drive innovation instore and across the business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Second language is desirable but not imperative

    Dubai Mall is a new store opening for Mulberry. It is therefore important that the successful candidate has a strong ability to recruit and build a team that is line with Mulberry’s vision for the store and a team that are digitally minded.

    The successful candidate will be required to train in the UK for approximately 3 months prior to the store opening.
