The Revenue Manager is responsible for using all revenue management tools, practices and techniques to help develop optimisation and revenue-

generating strategies for the hotel in the short, medium and long term. Development and implementation of the pricing strategy during the different periods of demand.

Optimisation encompasses all necessary revenue management techniques to search for and achieve budgetary objectives for RevPar, occupation, ARR and GOP and other ratios including F&B and other income.

Also responsible for managing the reservations department according to the brand and Hotels KPI’s and SOP’s responsible for the reservation department performance throughout the team and its members.

Developing Expertise :

Keeps abreast of newest trends and innovations in the industry and revenue field.

Maintains an awareness of competitor revenue strategy and best practices.

Thinking & Planning :

Takes a proactive approach to revenue, anticipating potential opportunities and yield strategies.

Understands the changing needs of the business and develops promotions to meet both short term and long term needs.

Communicating Expectations :

Sets realistic, measurable revenue strategies, objectives and goals to be achieved.

Provides the hotel team with regular updates on hotel performance to include market share, market segment roll ups, and channel metrics.

Structuring Tasks :

Drives Market Share and Revenue Performance through proper pricing and mix management.

Develops overall pricing strategy to include all market segments and distribution channels.

Effectively manages and be in control of all inventory (transient, group, wholesale allotments and other) and pricing strategy in all distribution channels including branded web, 3rd party sites, PMS,CRS and the GDS

Lead the Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager in the decision making process of promotion participation, offline contracts and pricing thereof.

Reviews and analyses data on an ongoing basis, Includes but not limited to Rooms Rollup, Pace, Group Backlog, Geographic Data, Enterprise Channel Reports, PMS Reports.

Maintains the accuracy and timely entry of all relevant data in the Revenue Systems

Complete understands and effective execution of current and new RM tools. Includes PMS, IPS, Sales & Catering System, Market Vision, Enterprise Channel Reports and any new / similar tools or reports developed in future years

Compliance to Melia Standards for Rate Plans, Rate Categories, Market Segments, Profiles and all other PMS / IPS related RM functionalities.

  • Revenue actions :

  • Responsible for controlling the hotel's channels of distribution and maintaining its databases.
  • Ensure that the established strategies are available in the time established.
  • Communicate the hotel's revenue management need (resulting from excess or lack of demand and revenue) allowing proactive or reactive decisions to be made.
  • Ensure communication with other revenue management departments in the area, as well as with other departments of the company.
  • Hotel yield optimisation : Communicate and apply all pricing / yield decisions and ensure that all systems are correctly updated, and that all hotel departments / channels sell according to the established strategy.
  • Price parity : following the strategy by channel. Ensure the same price listing in all channels that speak for the company and distribution channels according to predefined strategy.
  • Include PMR maintenance and hotel channels. Responsible for manipulating all yield techniques.

  • Building Relationships ;
  • Builds effective working relationships with the hotel’s leadership team and Melia corporate office.

    Partners with the group revenue / reservations team to maximise the revenue of ME Dubai Hotel and the Group.

    Develops and maintains relationships with key partners to maximise joint revenue opportunities.

    Focusing on Quality :

    Tracks key business indicators to determine the effectiveness of current systems and processes and identify areas for improvement.

    Evaluates the performance of the brand website and updates / improves to ensure impact and business are maximised
