Job Role : Regional CategoryLeader

Roles andResponsibilities

  • Define supplierstrategy including management and optimization of supplier panels.Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specificsuppliers.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions andtransmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Includescommercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiationssupport, etc.
  • This may also include purchasingactivities.

  • Contributes towards takingimportant decisions with business relevance or supporting businessin making decisions understanding broader cross-functionalimplications.
  • Ability to communicatehigh-level concepts to senior leadership. Frequent use of coachingand development of subordinates.
  • Deliverspecialized professional work delivered by single-layered team orprofessional work delivered by multi-layered teams.
  • Handles complex professional work in the department.Cases are unique and sometimes without precedent. Employees areexpected to develop new approaches.
  • Knowledge management isimportant


  • Creates region sourcing plans that securesupply and minimize disruptions, in accordance with categorysourcing strategies and Product Lines requirements
  • Develops action plans, timelines and resource assignmentsfor sourcing projects
  • Executes the regionalRFX for global suppliers
  • Coordinate the globalsuppliers’ performance in the region
  • Manage and develop regional suppliers
  • Key Deliverables

  • Sourcing strategy in compliance with categoryplans
  • Leverage the global supplier base toimprove lead-time, quality and cost.
  • Establishregional contracts and pricing agreements
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited universityor college. Minimum of 5 additional years of experience inCommodity Management.
  • Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oraland written communication skills.
  • Stronginterpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability todocument, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established projectmanagement skills.
