The Responsibilities Manageseffectively the day to day activities of the department staff.University faculty and any outside contractors, vendors orfreelancers employed to assist with publication activities.
Createsand maintains and manages a high quality, unified visual identitythat permeates Zayed University’s visual image.Identifies, complement and builds on the existing unified visualidentity that permeates the University’s print and Webpublications.
Monitors workflow of projects relating to timelinesof projects with staff, camera crews, stock footagelibrary’s, News archives broadcast news stations Audiorecording studios and other vendors.
Designs and develops accuratemultimedia DVD’s that result in availability of on brandand timely information to target audiences.
Manages the entireprocess of video production, working with the Director ofPublications and the video client to determine content andscripting, and with filming and production vendors as requiredSelects, edits and mix analog and digital video footage forpromotional videos Prepares video graphics, animation and specialeffects for use in university promotional videos and othermultimedia projects Works closely with individual Universitydepartments, colleges and units to assist in design and productionof promotional videos as needed Assures quality control of thevideo or multimedia project, overseeing sound mixing, finalproduction, and every aspect of the process Compiles and maintainsa library of new stock video footage from which selected clips canbe chosen and edited for individual videos Coordinates closely withthe Media Services Technician to provide video footage throughoriginal filming or access to university video archives Directlyfilms digital video footage as required Manages and coordinatesvideo filming with external production company when requiredProvides some graphics assistance for print publications Assists inthe development of promotional CD-ROMs and DVDs Maintains anadequate supply of still photo images for use in Universitypublications, either by arranging photo shoots or by providing highdefinition digital photos from digital video footage Identifiescommercially available stock video footage and recommends purchasewhen appropriate Manages contracts and all dealings with vendorsassociated with the publication dept from quotations to bids topurchase orders and delivery.
Manages projects in a collaborativeenvironment with writers, artists, designers, IT specialists andprinters, and develops an atmosphere of effective and efficientteamwork.
TheRequirements Should possess aMaster’s degree from an accredited institution in arelated field with emphasis in video filmmaking, editing andgraphics with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in videoproduction or a related field.
And a or an equivalent combinationof education or experience. Other essential requirements : Highlycomputer literate, with strong knowledge of PC and Macintoshoperating systems Professional experience with industry standardvideo editing, animation and graphics design software Experienceproducing an entire film, including shooting footage, recordingmusic and dialogue, controlling lighting, providing graphics andspecial effects, and editing the results.
Experience in planning,producing, and managing video and multimedia projects, creatingvideos for delivery via hard drive, DVD, CD, PowerPoint, Web, PALformat, etc.
Good command of English.
