AECOM are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Mechanical. The Associate Director will lead AECOM’s Building & places discipline, and will handle multiple projects and teams and direct the design and delivery activities on a wide range of projects.
The successful candidate will be experienced in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically design focused in similar type of Projects.
You will additionally source and follow up on business development leads and show consistent positive contributions to the region.
You will supervise the work of others and conduct performance evaluations.
Additionally, you will possess superior leadership and initiative. You will demonstrate leadership to positively impact office morale, and mentor staff, as well as effectively promote the core values of the firm through consistently providing an example to staff.
In the role of Associate Director, Mechanical, you will be required to maintain a current and thorough knowledge base across the geography and all practice lines relevant to the Mechanical practice line.
In addition, you will provide a broad and comprehensive perspective on the Market together with a thorough and up to date understanding of the collective capabilities, services and resources within building engineering to service the Market.
The Associate Director’s engagement in the Market is explicit and active and includes but is not limited to immersion in the sub-
markets, associations, clients, geopolitics, trends, key global players, and expectations of the Market.
Job Duties :
Provide support at all stages of the design process on related projects in particular bring specialist insight into the concept design stage to ensure the subsequent design stages are developed with a winning strategy and appropriate level of innovation with the latest healthcare industry knowledge.
Collaborate with relevant Building Engineering counterparts throughout the EMIA region on best practices.
Act as the Technical advisor to the team on all issues related to the healthcare business within Mechanical Engineering.
Implement the Company's strategy relating to customers with regard to gaining repeat business.
Be aware of marketing opportunities and the capability of the business as a whole.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing design services.
Provide technical mechanical engineering design, advice, review and approval.
Carry out general engineering duties to ensure quality assurance requirements are achieved.
Contribute to and lead proposals including technical, schedule and cost components.
Interface with clients and contractors to develop solutions and resolve technical issues.
Mentor and develop junior staff.
Provide advice in regards to the constructability, cost and schedule requirements for all mechanical queries.
Have an opportunity to develop and use your senior management skills.
Specific Skills Required :
Relationship development skills and people management
A strong knowledge of mechanical principles
Ability to provide a high level of design analysis at site and precinct level
Detailed knowledge of and ability to use up to date systems, tools and applications to support Mechanical and Design across the region
High level of planning and financial development management
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills along with professional presentation and service-orientation
A high level of consulting, organizational and project management skill
Strong time management abilities and problem solving techniques
Minimum 15-20+ years of experience, in Mechanical Design Engineering, with min 5 years in the middle-east with a multi-discipline practice

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master degree preferred.
Engineering accreditation (CEng or equivalent) would be advantageous
