The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, proactive and result-oriented Senior PR Specialist to support Acorn Strategy onsite at the Australian Pavilion, for the duration of the Expo2020 Dubai event.
The successful candidate for this role should possess exceptional work ethic and the willingness to go above and beyond to complete tasks while maintaining a supportive, empowering and positive attitude.
This is a secondment role and requires flexibility throughout, working on a rotating roster covering weekend and evening work, for an immediate start in September.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all onsite media engagement and management at the Australian Pavilion
Work with the Australian Pavilion team to support events and onsite programming and work with Acorn PR team on engaging media, identifying story opportunities, attending media briefings, coordinating interviews and providing media contacts with any assets required
Build strong relationships with all related media contacts, ensuring that the Australian Pavilion has strong, accurate coverage for the duration of the Expo2020 Dubai event
Maintain daily contact with the onsite media teams English and Arabic Media teams
Attend media briefings at the onsite media office
Utilise press kit materials maintained by Acorn to keep media informed latest fact sheets, updated Q&A, image library, spokesperson bio
Provide media with available press assets as required
Proactively identify potential story ideas and recommended media opportunities
Brief the Acorn team regarding pitching of story ideas and development of OpEd material and reviewing individual responses for media requests as required
Manage Australian Pavilion spokespeople.
Work with Acorn team to provide briefings prior to media engagements.
Attending media interviews.
Work alongside Australian Pavilion team in support of events and programmed activities.
Provide weekly WIP reports and attend weekly PR review meeting with the Acorn team
Requirements
Bilingual English and Arabic
Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications
7-10 Years experience in Public Relations
Proven experience working with the UAE media
A strong communicator, able to interface with a variety of audiences, both internal and external.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills and the credibility and poise to present to a wide range of stakeholders.
Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic.
