A Cake Artist for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while seeking customer feedback, training staff, controlling costs, and covering all business needs
What will I be doing?
A CakeArtist will be fully responsible for creating all types of cakes and the whole process of baking thecake from scratch and decorating it.
A CakeArtists will create creative cakes that are visually appealing and delicious in taste, with high attention to detail and a steady hand.
A Cake Artistshould be able to make all types of decorations required for the cake.
Create large and smallvolume of wedding cakes, all types of shapes, animation, cartoon characters,and logo design cakes etc.
Discussing the cake design ideas with the guests to create exceptional guest experience.
Ensuring adequate resources are available according to business needs.
AssistPastry Chef in the daily operation of the Pastry Department to ensure highproductivity and standards are maintained at all times.
Bake and decorate all kind of cakes in creative manner and with high attention to detail.
Assist in preparing welcome amenities and specialrequirements.
Control costs without compromising standards, improving gross profit margins and other departmental and financial targets
Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
Ensure maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
Ensure food control systems are adhered to so margins are on target
Be environmentally aware

To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow :
Previous experience as Cake Artist or similar role.
Experience in creating various types of cakes.
Experience in making all kind of decorations like icing, fine art work piping, fondant and marzipan figurine work and chocolate work.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience managing food costs.
Accountable and resilient.
Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
Ability to work under pressure.
Intermediate food hygiene qualification.
Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions :
Previous experience in luxury environment
Updated knowledge of current food trends
High level of IT proficiency
Locally available to conduct a food trial.
