The Director of Finance acts as a consultant and gives support to the General Manager, regarding the procedures and financial policies of Melia Hotels International, plan and makes strategic decisions about administration to achieve the best financial results from the Hotel and to obtain the goals of the company, while taking care of the goods and interests of it.
Finally to plan, to manage and to evaluate the financial operations and to promote maximum efficiency and profitability

Provides the hotel team with regular updates on hotel performance to include total revenue per department, full analysis of the P&L, projections and forecasts of the GOP and results of the property.

Full Responsibility for the Company’s Finance
Prepares the Statutory Accounts for the Hotel
Prepares the annual budget for the Hotel, review the development of the departments’ budget and to take appropriate action in order to avoid negative budgetary deviations.
In charge of company Taxation.
In charge of Bank relationships (maintain the Bank Mandates, credit cards, bank balance, etc.)
Prepares the Cash Flow Reports for the Head Office.
Prepares the weekly Forecast with the General Manager.
Establishes and reviews the internal Procedures to improve controls.
Must approve all the purchase orders before passing the General Manager.
In charge of annual appraisals of his team.
Prepares all the Finance reporting that could be required by GM, HO, Auditors, etc
In charge of insurance relations among other mandatory legal contracts for the property.
In charge with I.T. Department and maintain a periodical meetings with IT Manager.
To satisfy that Credit Manager / Receivable activities and to ensure that the monthly trial balance of accounts are correctly aged and the totals are in agreement with the controlling balance.
To review the city ledger accounts with Credit Manager.
To co-ordinate monthly credit meeting with Executive Committee Members. To prepare reports to General Manager indicating trend of balances, accounts requiring special attention, accounts turned over to special attention and those recommended to be written off etc.
To bring to the attention of General Manager of any deficiency in the system.
Leading the Team :
Drives the ME brand values and philosophy.
Leads and develops in conjunction with the Heads of Departments, finance strategies and plans for the business.
Building Relationships :
Builds effective working relationships with the hotel’s leadership team and Melia corporate office.
Partners with the group finance team to maximise the control and effectiveness in the finance department of ME Dubai Hotel and the Group.
Focusing on Quality :
Tracks key business indicators to determine the effectiveness of current systems and processes and identify areas for improvement.

Focuses on producing results through encouraging high achievement within the Team.
