Job Role : Contracts Manager - O&M& Freight Facilities
An opportunity hasarisen to be part of a world class rail project in the UAE andbased in Abu Dhabi. Work is scheduled to last through to2023.
Responsible for post contract commercial contractmanagement of Freight and O&M Facility contracts on theEtihad Rail Programme.
Managing the contract teams to ensure compliance withProject Corporate Governance Procedures.
Leading the cost reporting, including CostForecasting, Anticipated Final Cost, Cost of Work Done, GrossBilling and Current Contract Value.
Leading, monitoring, managing and reporting onall commercial and contractual aspects and propose mitigatingactions at the earliest opportunity to the Program Senior ContractsManager.
Leading thecommercial review of contractor delivery of projects & leadvaluation progress meetings.
Leading the assessment and valuation of applications inaccordance with Program processes, contractual terms and conditionsand commensurate with contractual entitlement.
Lead the challengeof cost elements, audit where appropriate and confirm whethervaluations are consistent with agreed site progress.
Providing pro-active specialistadvice on all change including proposed scope changes, inaccordance with the Program change control systems, in accordancewith levels of delegated authority.
Recommending mitigating action on allcommercial risk / claim events at the earliest possibletime.
Reviewingcontractual claims reports, identify emerging problems andrecommend solutions for implementation to Program Director forauthorisation, as appropriate.
Provision of ad-hoc management information to promoteinformed decision-making.
Managing all commercial correspondence and contractualnotices issued in accordance with contractual conditions to confirmwhether the Employer’s contractual position is clearlydefined.
Leading thefinal account settlements on all projects to manage close out asper the project authority, project plan and within agreedtimescale's.
Supporting pre and post contract procurement activities asand when required.
Leading the negotiation of all prices under existingcontracts and fully participate in the associated Quantitative RiskAssessment and Value Management Workshops, as required.
Key requirements for therole :
Educated to degreelevel or equivalent and professional qualification.
Excellent effective written andverbal communication skills.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Relevant experience in freight and RailO&M advantageous.
