The Graphic Designer is responsible for the creation of all collaterals for Marriott Downtown and Marriott Executive Apartments Abu Dhabi.
Accountable for maintaining the integrity of the Hotels and Brands, he / she is responsible for all visual creative. Responsibilities also include ensuring collateral meets and is updated frequently to brand standards, liaising with printers for specifications, ensuring printing quality and following design briefs and guidelines.
The successful applicant will possess strong knowledge in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator with attention to detail and good communication skills.
SCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT
A Full Time position based at the Marriott Hotel & Marriott Executive Apartment Downtown Abu Dhabi.
Must have been in a similar position within a premium hotel brand, or media agency with overall proven track record in graphic design, for a period of minimum 2 years.
Experience in a fast paced environment
Fluent in written and verbal English is a must
Education or Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Graphic Design Diploma / Degree
Skills and Knowledge
Should possess excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.
Should be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficient with creative software is a must (CS5) :
Apple Mac literate with competency in all major design computer packages
Solid computer skills including MS Office.
Detail oriented with a track record of follow through and delivery
Knowledgeable about working with corporate brands
Knowledgeable about file conversions (PDF, mpg, JPEG, TIFF, EPS, ae, mp3, mp4, avi)
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships e.g. stakeholders, associates, customers, vendors, suppliers
Ability to create innovative design projects and implement them
Excellent product and technical knowledge

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position :
Ensuring the correct corporate policy and standards are followed for all printed and display materials, using brand voice
Designing of property-relevant promotional collaterals for food and beverage, rooms, spas, health clubs, catering departments and sales teams, together with the creation of any other relevant marketing collateral (TV screen presentations, lift posters, newsletters, flyers, brochures, menus, banners etc.)
Designing Flash animated banners and other advertising artwork for external online and offline media
Liaising with printers for specifications and ensuring printing quality
Maintaining effective relationships with printers and other relevant suppliers
Branding of corporate trade show displays and other event-related collateral
Ensuring the re-sizing of artworks and the delivery to publishing houses
Updating all external hotel image libraries regularly, including photo-editing as and when needed
Reviewing and ensuring that all property based collateral is on brand
Ensuring corporate and regional marketing creative are pulled through at the property level
Participating in required marketing & brand trainings, conference calls and meetings
Reporting back to marketing manager on a monthly basis in relation to ongoing creative and visual trends within the hospitality industry
Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall project as well as innovative graphic solutions
Brainstorming and mocking up design ideas, demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches
Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers and marketing associates
Developing design briefs by gathering information and data to clarify design issues
Using a wide range of media, including own photography skills where needed
Assisting on Marketing photo shoots where needed
Working to meet tight deadlines
Meeting with marketing manager / executives to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the jobs
Working alongside creative agencies on a needs basis
Performs other duties as assigned by the leader to meet business needs.
Carries responsibility for ensuring that all cash and key security procedures are adhered at all times as per the hotel policy
Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited, Continental Office local policies and procedures and with hotel job aids
Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than 48 hours per week
