Job title - Accounts Receivable Collection Controller

Section / location - GSS Finance Regional Centre Middle East - Dubai

Reports to - Region MEA Credit Collection Manager

Local Unit & Position Description : With the purpose of conducting a standardized, high quality and cost -efficient support function, GSS finance is organizing into larger regional supporting centers.

These centralized hubs, together with the next generation finance (NGF) project and legal entity efficiency project (LEEP) will all come into play to deliver significant benefits to the organization by improving quality efficiency, compliance and improving the competence of our resources.

In this way GSS will better support DNV GL's business areas in meeting their strategic goals. The GSS finance regional center in Dubai (UAE) supports all business areas in the middle east and Africa region.

The regional shared service center is looking for an Accounts Receivable (AR) Collection Controller with strong technical skills, a customer centric mindset, self-motivated with positive and can do attitude to be part of this great team.

As AR Collection Controller in our GSS finance regional shared service center, you will vigorously chase an assigned portfolio of accounts to achieve the collection targets.

This position is vital for the company and is located in our Dubai, UAE office. Your sharp judgment, AR Collection experience, computer skills, organization and superior communication skills will all come into play in this dynamic role for DNV GL.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude and the willingness to go the extra mile to meet organizational goals.

The Collection Controller will :

  • Implement a global Credit Collection tool to enable the management of ongoing collection activities at invoice level
  • Enable the escalation process to function and ensure effective communication between Credit Collection organization and the Business
  • Implement a global solution towards customer credit worthiness
  • Key responsibilities :

  • To actively chase an assigned portfolio of accounts, to ensure payment to terms and maximize collections in order to achieve monthly and quarterly targets
  • Overseeing the collection efforts made at Local level, including dunning procedures & follow-up
  • Build, strengthen and improve customer relationships
  • Creating and executing collection plans in co-operation with Business
  • Focus on maintaining and developing excellent relationships with customers and resolving any queries accordingly in an efficient and effective manner
  • Leverage (stop working) in liaison with BA management
  • Write-offs in co-operation with BA
  • Turning accounts over to an outside Collections Agency or local solicitor after x days of collection efforts and amount greater than x days
  • Position Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Multitasking and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in a Credit & Collection environment
  • Good IT skills : Intermediate Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Able to work alone and in a team setting
  • Ideally with 3-5-year work experience in a similar position
  • Excellent English skills required, written and verbal
  • Key performance Indicators :

  • Clearly understood an efficient process for collections and credit management
  • Accounts Receivable under control and overdues meeting Group mandated targets
  • Clear view given as to Accounts Receivable risks
  • Clear demarcation between GSS & BA Finance responsibilities
  • Characteristics of successful employee :

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent team player and with very good personal communication and phone skills.
  • Highly efficient, accurate and well organized.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Can do!" attitude and the ability to work independently effectively
