Purpose of the role Managing and developing a team of people to assist the General Manager to create a sales driven culture that delivers consistent operational excellence and sustained profitable growth and as appropriate deputies for the General Manager in absence Key to this success is the development of Unit Managers Supervisors and their Teams and in building bench strength for the future Key Areas of Responsibilities Management and ControlConducts full weekly monthly review of Unit s financial performance with Direct reports Post Unit reviews attend a financial review with the General Manager Makes use of management information on a weekly period basis to drive business improvement Proactively adjusts labor costs SAR to match rising and decreasing sales Conducts accurate stock taking each period and as required during the month Prepares weekly figures and weekly review sheets Team Management Recruitment of all Operational Staff Ensures induction processes are in place to ensure all new proper induction and follow up reviews Sets and reviews objectives for all Managers and Supervisors Ensures performance appraisals are completed for all management in line with the organizational expectations Conducts monthly team meetings to cascade business developments and request feedback Proactively develops the team using relevant L D programs as part of the solution always following up to identify how the learning can be implemented Succession Planning building bench strength by attending quarterly meetings with team to review and rate current and future performance Implements locally based employee recognition schemes Employee of the Month etc Sales and Service Management Continually monitors service levels when on site and coaches unit Managers Team Leaders and Team Members to improve speed of Service and the delivery Service portal Ensures new Team Members are inducted into delivery Service portal and coached to deliver the standards required Monitors sales performance and average spends and coaches Team Members to improve sales and service skills Review and discuss with General Manager ways in which to capitalize on revenue opportunities meet client expectations Manages customer dissatisfaction issues at Unit level as they occur and always ensures Customer Satisfaction Guarantees are met and Customer Feedback Systems are always in place Operational Management Responsible for implementation and oversight of all tech systems POS etc Ensures all procedures are in place and adhered to concerning cash handling Fully understands and complies with all statutory requirements Licensing Accident reporting Manual handling Risk Assessment Unit cleaning schedules and check lists etc Understand the crisis management process evacuation procedures etc Actively manages all Maintenance issues reporting timely followup and escalation Ensuring Supervisors Team Leaders managing shifts have been appropriately trained Brand Integrity and Product Management Monitors effective merchandising of products at all times great displays good levels of availability including core range specific to Brand Reviews the accurate implementation of production planning to drive down waste costs and ensure a high level of quality on display Understands measures and drives for excellence in all Brand audits internal and external Coaches the team in all aspects of Brand delivery and acts as local custodian of the Brand standards Supports the effective implementation of all new promotions marketing activity and product launches to time and quality standards
