  • What are the Primary Responsibilities* As a Senior Director Government Sales Leader, the successful candidate will lead the relationship and sales effort directly with Government partners.
  • The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of the relationship between Visa and its key global clients and to develop and execute the GCC Government as a client strategy in conjunction with Government Relations, VCA and Product teams.

    This role focuses on business growth and client satisfaction. This role will manage Government as a client and will be responsible for building the foundations of a Government Sales strategy by generating leads and propositions that could be scaled not only in GCC but also in CEMEA.

    This role will initially focus on the multi-year plan for 'Government as a Client' with a potential revenue opportunity of at least $20M over the next 2 years.

    The successful candidate will manage :

    Sales and Strategic Planning* o Contribute to the development of the GCC's business development strategy concerning global accounts and government sales.

    o Identify and prioritize large and game changing commercial opportunities with Governments as a client in region and maintain the government sales pipeline ensuring complete alignment with overall Visa strategy in the GCC o Lead the GCC strategy with Governments, Central Banks & regulators o Be the key point of contact for all potential business with Government in partnership with Govt Engagement teams o Provide local market insights and articulate how Visa can support key government payment initiatives in market o The successful candidate will be responsible for government sales targets across the GCC o Ensure the development of individual designated clients' operational plans, with corresponding tactics and actions to achieve defined goals.

    Solutioning* o Contribute, in conjunction with product teams, in defining the roadmap of new solutions for the assigned client set including standardized government solutions scalable in the GCC and beyond o Work with the local country teams to customize available products and solutions, support complex sales initiatives and support in market project execution o Adapt product and sales collateral for solution launches in collaboration with Marketing

    Collaboration* o Build and maintain productive working relationships all key stakeholders to achieve exceptional business outcomes o Influence Visa leadership inside and outside region as appropriate to ensure adequate support and approval, ensure maximum cooperation, liaison and communication across country / market o Act as thought leader for Visa government sales in the GCC aligning stakeholders internally (with in the GCC and globally) and externally o Support Government Engagement team in complex government sales discussions and create cross-functional teams where appropriate to maximize commercialization opportunities

    Controls* o Ensure adequate controls are in place and actively manage compliance, regulatory and reputational issues (external and Visa internal) to mitigate business, operational, people and brand risk.

    The role will report directly into the Group Country Manager and be a core part of the cluster's leadership team. As this is a client-facing role, it requires the successful candidate to establish and foster deep relationships with Clients and internal stakeholders. *What will also help : *

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for building a new capability within the GCC to own and drive the development of solutions that support critical government priorities.
  • With direct P&L responsibility, the successful candidate will get exceptional exposure to tier 1 clients and key government stakeholder and be responsible for establishing sales pipelines in each of the six GCC markets.
  • The segment is a key growth priority and strategic focus area for Visa and the role offers the right candidate an exceptional opportunity to build and execute it across one of the most exciting digital ecosystems in the world.
  • Arabic speaker preferred
  • Education : Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred
  • 15 years track record of Country Management / Sales, Market Development preferably in emerging markets, Government engagement (sales or regulatory), Consultative sales experience
  • Strong financial services and / or technology background
  • In-depth knowledge of the electronic payments industry and local political environments in the GCC
  • Ability to win stakeholder buy-in at the highest level government, and manage execution against the strategy
  • Proven track record of productive collaboration with diverse colleagues in a highly-matrixed work environment
  • Strong judgment / decision-making skills
