GHD Middle East is looking for a mid-senior Process Engineer with a Mechanical and Energy background for its offices in Abu Dhabi or Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The candidate must have knowledge of chemical processes under an energy context, preferably within the Oil & Gas Sector and Hydrogen with its derivatives, power and industrial design, equipment operations, separation operations, water electrolysis and hydrogen handling.
The position is for mid-senior professionals, and They will be responsible for carrying out Projects within the division, collaborating with clients and coordinating with other peers from other regions.
The candidate will be responsible for his / her technical duties and potentially for those of his / her own Team and will refer through the Division hierarchy to the regional Business Group Leader of Future Energy.
They will also be responsible to represent Company as Process Knowledge Owner within Project Task forces process team, either internal or at Client's premises.
The candidate will work in a multifaceted consultancy environment within the Future Energy Business unit (Future Energy (ghd.
com) and will have the opportunity to technically grow and to interface directly with other top-level field specialists. The candidate will have access to the most innovative technical and analytical tools for performing the required consultancy services.
The candidate will have ample opportunities to grow and increase his / her skills within GHDs Business School for personal career development, eventually acting as focal technical point for his / her own areas of expertise.
Over time, they will be eventually involved in the strategic technical decisions of the Future Energy Unit within the region for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
Main Tasks : Assess and always be able to discuss on the optimization of any energy-related process for power generation and energy storage (Power-to-X and Hydrogen-to-X approach) Able to perform basic process simulations for thermal modelling and heat & material balance and supervise the modelling team.
Day-to-day interaction with existing and potential clients with a business development approach. Develop and review technical documentation from concept and pre-feasibility phase, up to operation and decommissioning of facilities, (i.
e. feasibility study, minimum functional specifications, technical tender documents, technical queries from FEED / EPC Contractors, O&M instructions, etc.
Able to go through financial and commercial indices with regards to estimating costs (CapEx, OpEx) and time schedule of projects, activities and installations.
Lead the overall project management responsibility from the projects inception, up to project closure and full commercial review with the finance department.
Ability of preparing a fully-fledged proposal document, with all technical details (methodology, company experience, CVs, etc.
as well as all commercial details with regards to building up the fee and abiding by Groups legal, commercial and quality mandates.
Requirements : Masters degree in Chemical / Process / Energy Engineering with a focus on Hydrogen 5-6 years working experience in a structured Engineering / Consulting Team, ideal within an international environment with shown knowledge of the Middle Eastern region and its potential Proficiency in PC use (MS Office, Programming Languages) Proficiency in English Language, Arabic will be considered a plus Availability to travel within the region on short-& mid-term assignments, when and if required Solid understanding of specialist Software for process simulation or thermal modelling (i.
e.
