We are looking for an exceptional Head of PR / Crisis Comms who will be responsible for external consumer and corporate communications, crisis strategies and communications and community outreach programs.
You will play a critical role in developing and communicating the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi vision, accomplishments and programs and strategically build a comprehensive public relations program that helps lift the reputation and image of the new Marine Life Park among clients and stakeholders.
You will be a communications counsel for the Park PR & Communications teams; support the rest of the organization on internal communications providing guidance on content and managing crisis communication when required.
Other responsibilities include :
Develop and execute comprehensive strategic internal / external communications strategy and plans to support SWAD business objectives and enhance the company’s reputation
Develop a media relation strategy in conjunction and in support to marketing plan seeking high-level goals of coverage and share of voice
Assume broad-reaching strategic responsibility for the management of public relations program that will protect SWAD image and support specific messages designed to reinforce Farah’s and its assets’ position as the leader in its own category
Demonstrate development of the strategic objectives of the company and business units with the ability to translate business needs into strategic communications plans that advance the company’s goals
Provide counsel on communications strategies, messaging, and issues management to members of senior management, displaying business acumen and understanding of the most critical business drivers;
help them understand how executive communications and strategic media relations can help drive the business and provide counsel and support on all matters related to public relations
Provide strong leadership and manage team of individuals in the areas of public relations, internal communications, crisis communications and community outreach and engage and motivate them in reaching specific objectives
Implement and maintain solid measurement and metrics oversight of monitoring, quantifying and reporting the effectiveness of media relations campaigns and efforts and strategic high-value programs aligned with marketing to increase market share
Groom key company spokespeople to communicate with Media
Establish and maintain positive relationships between various internal and external stakeholders including executive management, business unit management, employees and media, including reporters, editors, columnists and producers
Lead team to evolve community outreach programs and further partnerships and develop a program or programs beyond these to positively differentiate the Park from competitor programs
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for SWAD, including participation in events, review applications for charitable donations and supervise related activities;
provide guidelines on sponsorships / CSR and review and seek approval for sponsorships / CSR
Develop and write message platforms on key issues
Be knowledgeable of key industry trends. Maintain proficiency on all regulatory issues and other industry initiatives that impact SWAD’s business.
Manage media-related crisis situations with a global or national perspective; establish rapid response capability and external partnerships, as needed
Work closely with senior executives and subject matter experts to develop speeches, presentations, videos or other communications materials that advance thought leadership both inside and outside the company.
Draft critical executive-level communications on sensitive issues related to corporate issues
Train and mentor team member / s on the process of creating results-driven market insights through strategy development to tactical executions
Support, challenge, develop and inspire team to achieve their goals and objectives
Track value delivered by the team through key performance indicators
Manage his / her team as well as the department’s budget
Telescope existing media relationships and cultivate new contracts by managing media support Agencies
Coordinates SM Messaging and deliverables
Evaluates and shares with MKT Team opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
Fluency in written and spoken English
12 15+ years in a corporate communications / public relations role including experience in developing and implementing strategic communication plans designed to defend and protect a corporate brand
Crisis and communications issues experience
Experience in Tourism / Entertainment / Conservation / Zoos / Aquariums
Strategic thinker and strong leadership skills
Proven ability to align communications plans with business objective including internal communications
Experience in serving as a key advisor to senior leadership, developing communications campaigns and messages, demonstrated ability to create substantive and accurate messages to a wide variety of audiences
Demonstrated ability to navigate through complex organizations and develop networked relationships
Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive within corporate culture. A decisive member of the team who is results and action-oriented.

Significant media relations experience
Proven outstanding and solid writing skills, including speeches, press releases, media statements, talk points, PowerPoint presentations.
Ability to create compelling graphics, videos and other visuals to help tell a story
Understanding of digital PR platforms
Fluency in Arabic will be valued
