Position : Planning Director

Location : London, full-service ad agency

Salary : 80K per annum

Exciting opportunity for a passionate and problem-solving planning director at a London full-service ad-agency.

About The Company

We are a new breed of independent media agencies with a growing base of both challenger and mature brands looking to take on an AV manager to work with some of our key clients and help further build out the agency s AV capabilities.

Working closely with creative teams is a big part of this role. We bring modern media thinking to mature brands as well as helping challengers grow and scale to the next level through investment in media and advertising.

We are a boutique agency with very high client and team satisfaction scores and a raft of different and interesting clients.

About The Role

We re building a modern independent agency from the ground up to offer a fresh alternative to clients and agency talent who are frustrated in their current roles and know they can make a bigger impact.

We ve quietly built some great foundations and won some key accounts against our competition.

The agency now has a growing roster of quality clients, and now we need a brilliant implementational planning lead to drive excellence and innovation in the way we bring strategy, ideas and plans to life.

Key Responsibilities

We re looking for someone who has proven experience, across social and digital planning, and across brand / brand response.

As the implementational planning lead, you d be responsible for the quality, innovation and rigour of the channel plans, both vertically and horizontally.

Work with the strategy team to help move audience, tasks, and ideas into channel tactics

Co-author / develop the channel principles

Bring audience channel behaviour and usage insights to bear on the planning

Own the channel KPIs that ladder up to the campaign objectives

Deliver rigorous plans that connect the channel ecosystem effectively

Set and allocate budgets, in total and by channel

Develop scenarios with credible, well-informed recommendations

Depth of channel planning expertise is a must across all social platforms

Recommendations on platform products and formats to deliver the most effective plans

Establishing internal processes, methodologies and systems

Developing our relationships with media owners

Working to get the most of our partners both for strategy, planning and buying

Lead and develop your team, providing training support and mentoring

Set high standards and expectations is a part of this role

Knowledge of the right industry and media owner training for teams to attend

About The Candidate

Broad & deep knowledge of the UK media landscape

First rate media planning skills and a good knowledge of marketing theory and best practice

Good knowledge of other marketing disciplines beyond paid media

A solid contacts book of media owners

Top-notch communication skills (verbal and written) with natural gravitas

A proven track record in training and developing a team

A team player, with the ability to work across the wider teams

Foster collaborating and new ways of thinking

You should be a creative thinker and problem solver

You should have a passion for the industry and for media planning.

Attention to detail

You should take pride in getting stuck in.

Good working knowledge of media measurement techniques / media effectiveness research
