Primary Functions

  • To service our most important existing Middle Eastern clients in the region actively promoting up-selling and cross-selling into new categories
  • To recruit new high potential clients from across the Middle East region to transact internationally be it at auction and private sale
  • Work with the Head of Jewellery Private Sales and head of Client Advisory on identifying key clients, events and specific requests
  • Ensure the sharing of client information with colleagues and client team members to leverage financial opportunities and client engagement
  • Install a culture of trust and collaboration, partnering with client team members to work together to individual client objective and targets
  • Work to support varied specialist categories, actively driving buying activity across multiple clusters and supporting the New Buyers Programme with top prospect clients
  • Work with the Managing Director of the Middle East and Chairman to identify key opportunities for client recruitment and cultivation, as well as profile-building of the company within the region.
  • Support and be actively involved in engaging attendance to top client events across the Middle East and certain high-profile global events as requested
  • Be a constant ambassador to the company, attend client events, gallery openings, and social events that may be important for client recruitment across the region
  • Objectives

  • Recruit important new clients with the potential to buy at Masterpiece level
  • Encourage existing clients to refer new clients to Christie’s
  • Directly acquire bids at auction (across the global sales calendar) and achieve financial targets set by Head of Client Advisory
  • Achieve cross-category private sales
  • In partnership with the Head of Client Advisory, the Managing Director of the Middle East, and the team, assist with the development of the Christie’s brand and services across the region
  • Work with strategic partners to cultivate new client relationships
  • Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in History of Art (or other relevant subject)
  • Market knowledge
  • Proven client network in the Middle East region and international collectors of Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern, Western Art and Jewelery
  • Proven track record of successful business getting activity
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional client service
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive client information
  • Team player
  • Excellent inter-personal and client relationship management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Fluency in English with Arabic, and other languages, an advantage
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to function in a complex department and regional matrix
  • Competency with relevant Christie’s internal systems (e.g. COS, James, Lotfinder, etc.)
