Objective

The nOperations Manager Operations is responsible for managing the assigned base’s nMaintenance Operations activities (i.

e. planning, scheduling, preventive nmaintenance, etc.) by providing cost-effective maintenance and repair services nto the aircrafts and assets, ensuring proactive serviceability and availability nof the customer’s aircrafts and equipment.

Job nDescription

  • Under the direction of the Base nManager Operations, manages the implementation of the maintenance planning at nthe assigned base to ensure that repair and maintenance services are naccomplished efficiently to the most productive and cost effective manner.
  • Supports the Base Manager with the ndevelopment of optimum maintenance planning targets covering maintenance nefficiencies and availability at the base, ensuring reliability and performance nimprovement to improve the maintenance effectiveness and speed of service.
  • Contributes to the development of nmaintenance schedules, and implements them as part of operation and maintenance nplanning to execute on time and scheduled maintenance in order to ensure that naircrafts are working to their optimum efficiency and capability.
  • Supports the Base Manager in the ncoordination of maintenance planning activities in the base and interface with nthe company’s Headquarters and MRO facilities to align maintenance operations, nmaintenance scheduling short and long term, base capability communication and nworkload planning and management to ensure smooth functioning of the base’s nactivities and avoiding possible delays and maintenance failures
  • Supports the Base Manager in nmanaging the resolution of the operational day-to-day maintenance problems to nensure a highly efficient, effective and quality service is extended to ncustomers’ aircrafts at the base.
  • Ensures that all aircraft nmaintenance activities take place in an efficient, compliant and safe manner to nensure a high quality of maintenance operations at the base.
  • Ensures that military aircraft nmaintenance services are continuously available to customers so that aircrafts nare operational and ready to fly when required and at a level that meets the nrequired standards.
  • Develops preventative maintenance nschedules to cover all relevant aircraft maintenance so that it is maintained nin optimum working order and breakdowns are minimized.
  • Monitors the usage of materials, nspares and consumables to ensure that consumption is consistent with budgeted nassumptions.
  • Contributes towards the on-going nreview of the physical condition of the base operational assets to ensure that nthose assets are in a suitable condition to allow the company to fulfil its nstrategic objectives and comply with any relevant legislation.
  • Assists the Supply Chain function in nthe negotiations with contractors providing a clear statement of work and nunderstanding
  • Maintains relationships with nthird-party providers, through the Supply Chain function, of operational and nmaintenance personnel so that the company is able to fulfill its operational nservice, safety, environmental and cost targets without unnecessary addition to nthe fixed overheads.
  • Manages the achievement of nobjectives by setting individual goals and objectives, managing performance, ndeveloping staff and providing formal and informal feedback in order to nmaximize overall performance and engagement.
  • Supervises the day-to-day noperations of the Base Maintenance Operations section to ensure that work nprocesses are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, nprocesses and procedures.
  • Reviews all operational reports and ntakes any necessary corrective actions to ensure that all aircraft maintenance nactivities take place according to defined operational procedures and a timely nservice is delivered to customers.
  • On an on-going basis, examines ncurrent operational processes to identify and implement potential operational nimprovements that will positively impact upon service, safety, environmental nand cost performance
  • Manages effectively the achievement nof the objectives through assisting the Department Head in managing the nmaintenance operations setting individual objectives, managing performance, ndeveloping and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and nappraisal in order to maximize the performance of the maintenance staffs
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant nsafety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls nacross the Maintenance Operations at the Facility to guarantee employee safety, nlegislative compliance, delivery of high quality aircraft maintenance service nand a responsible environmental attitude
  • Contributes towards the on-going nreview of the physical condition of the Facility operational assets to ensure nthat those assets are in a suitable condition to allow the company to fulfil nits strategic objectives and comply with any relevant legislation
  • Manages the implementation of noperational business processes at the Facility which will facilitate the nidentification and consistent application of maintenance best practice and the nrealization of synergies across the maintenance operations at the Facility
  • Recommends efficient budget nplanning and assist the Base Manager in monitoring financial performance versus nthe budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs, and areas of nunsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential nperformance improvement opportunities are capitalized
  • Recommends improvements to the nmaintenance operations policy and manages the implementation of procedures and ncontrols covering all areas of maintenance operations activity at the Facility, nso that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while ndelivering a quality, cost-effective maintenance service to the customer
  • Develops and implements norganizational and functional charts to establish lines of authority and nspecific Responsibilities.
  • Sponsors opportunities to take part nin change initiatives, programs and projects that reflect international best practices nand changes in the competitive environment.
  • Ensures direct reports adhere to nand support all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, nprocedures and controls, promoting employee safety, legislative compliance and nto promote a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Implements the day-to-day noperations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established nstandards and procedures.
  • Prepares statements and reports, ntimely and accurately to meet the company and departmental requirements, npolicies and standards.
  • Prepares function statements and nreports in a timely and accurate manner to meet the requirements of the company nand department policies and standards.

    Qualifications, nKnowledge & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace nmaintenance or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 10 years of experience nin an aerospace maintenance and aircraft operating environment, preferably in nmilitary, of which at least 5 years in a similar position in project management nor operations management capacity
  • English nLanguage Communication Skills
