Job Description

To provide mentoring, coaching, and oversight of the Operations Developees and drive their development as Nuclear Operator professionals.

To perform first line supervisory duties as assigned by Operations management

  • Management and Support
  • Reinforce Operations management expectations and promote nuclear safety as the overriding priority in all activities.
  • Assist Operations management with staffing, scheduling, planning, training (classroom material, and coordination of training schedules) and qualification of BNPP operators.
  • Ensure Operations Department plans, programs, and activities are conducted in accordance with all nuclear regulations as required by FANR and other relevant regulatory authorities as well as Nawah policy requirements.
  • Assist in the development and establishment of draft regulations, policies, processes, procedures, programs, and training materials to support Developee training and qualifications.
  • Provide assistance / interface with supporting Nawah departments, external consultants, and contractors to support the Operations Department needs.
  • Provide support to Licensing Department on regulatory matters.
  • Support the Emergency Response Organization with technical expertise and operational experience.
  • Support the start-up of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) Operations organization in any additional activities requested by the direct supervisor.

  • Participate in station management meetings to assure alignment with site directives, and priorities.
  • Facilitate healthy communication with other departments to optimize site efficiency and achieve corporate goals.

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Division / Department / Section by delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
  • People Management
  • Manage the effective achievement of the organization's objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, supplying formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximize subordinate and department performance.
  • Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
  • Contribute to knowledge dissemination / sharing in a way that assists with building the capabilities of mentees where applicable and maximize their effective performance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission-critical activities.

  • Develop interpersonal skills in team members to promote solid lines of communication both internal and external to the Operations Department.
  • Participate in the coordination of disciplinary action of subordinates per the Academic Review Board process, and the Human Resources Manual.

    Academic :

    Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent years of experience

    Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Applied Science

    Language Proficiency : English : Fluent

    English : Fluent

    English proficiency equivalent ot the ICAO Rating Scale of Extended (Level 5) or Expert (Level 6).

    Professional Certifications

    SRO license or certification

    SRO license with on-shift experience or in an Operations Support role at a PWR nuclear power plant.


    7 years of relevant nuclear power plant experience.

    6 7 years of Combustion Engineering related experience.
