Reporting to the Dean of Engineering, the Department sits within the College of Engineering, which includes 9 academic departments, with over 200 faculty and around 3000 students.
The UAE Nuclear Power program was launched at the end of 2009 with the build of four South Korean APR 1400 pressurized water reactors (PRWs), the first of which will enter service some time in 2020.
Accordingly, the Nuclear Engineering Department offers an MSc degree in nuclear engineering, a PhD in engineering, with nuclear concentration and a Minor in nuclear engineering in BSc degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering.
Our Gulf Nuclear Engineering Infrastructure Institute (GNEII) offers a professional development program in safety, security and safeguards (the 3S ) and a new program in radiological protection is under review.

Qualifications include full-Professor rank and a PhD in an appropriate STEM discipline with outstanding teaching credentials and postgraduate research experience.
Preferred experience includes course design and development, and teaching in a technical discipline together with a strong research track record and scholarly activity.
