Wood is expecting a contract award by August 2018 for a project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
We would be looking to hire a number of Engineering professionals upon contract award. We will contact you if your CV was found suitable to discuss a project and position details.
We are currently sourcing a Lead Mechanical Engineer (Static) to join our team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;
To lead and manage the mechanical engineering and design of Static equipment
To have single-point responsibility for all Mechanical Static equipment deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client’s policies and procedure
To ensure that the overall project is delivered to meet the asset operational needs
To provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to static equipment engineering
To prepare Static equipment’s Enquiry Specifications, Reviewing and analyzing Vendor bids, Preparation of Technical bid evaluation, Issuing Purchase Specifications, and Reviewing of Vendor documents and co-
ordination with various other disciplines for data inputs.
To provide technical assistance, coordination and liaison with other discipline engineers on all aspects of Engineering / technical matters and audits.
To participate in all project safety and DESIGN / HAZOP / HAZID & Constructability reviews as necessary
To participate in Equipment Fabrication workshop activities such as Material inspection, stage inspection, Welding, Painting, NDT inspection & Final inspection.
Active participation in Bid clarification and Vendor kick off meetings, through the course of the projects.
To review and approve Sub-Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with the contract, project specification, relevant codes and standards and best practices.
To provide technical support to maintenance and operation team, carried out trouble shooting and resolving chronic problems, which required more in depth investigation.
To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule
To liaise with the Client’s Engineering team as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion
To prepare Engineering Reports on project activities / methods.
To promote safe behaviour at all times
Principal Responsibilities :
To provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
To co-ordinate with other disciplines
To assist in the coordination of all activities related to Static equipment packages
To identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and / or quality and recommend corrective actions as required
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an engineering design company
At least 12 months experience of site-based project work involving field engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, or maintenance
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. / B.Eng. / M.Sc.)
Membership of a recognised professional institute preferred
Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
Experience with Sour Service Operations would be an advantage
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Static equipment design and analysis
Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards
