Job Role : Senior FinancialAccountant

The Senior FinancialAccountant / Analyst will be responsible for supervising and managingthe day to day activities of the Finance Team whilst takingownership for Management and Financial Accounting and Reporting,Financial Systems and Controls and leading the internal andexternal audit arrangements.

JobDescription

  • Manage and supervise aFinance Team of four, working closely with the AP / AR Supervisor toensure the accounts payable and receivable functions are runningsmoothly and all related deliverables are met.
  • Set team objectives and work closely with them to ensuretheir objectives are met by year end.
  • Tooversee and continually improve end to end finance systems andprocesses including bureaux processes & procedures andbanking related processes.
  • Review otherbusiness systems and advise on changes to work flows to ensure moreadequate controls are in place.
  • Review themonthly financial accounts pack and provide detailed commentary atthe end of each month on variances and movements againstbudget / forecast and prior months and years.
  • Management Accounting responsibilities including theprovision of detailed annual budgets and five year plans and thepreparation of quarterly P&L;
  • forecast, quarterly cash flowforecast and cash management.

  • Review andmaintain the monthly balance sheet accounts and ensure balances arein line with adequate accounting policies, highlighting any issuesand discrepancies to the Finance Manager.
  • Review and approve monthly payroll, billing, bank recs,weekly payment runs and month end journals as prepared by the teamhighlighting any issues and discrepancies to the FinanceManager.
  • Prepare key monthly reports asrequested by the Finance Manager (example detailed revenue andcoverage related reports, KPI reports etc..).
  • Provision of timely, relevant and accurate information tosenior management within finance and wider teams to facilitatedecisions and control.
  • Audit lead preparation,and compliance for the external audit in addition to ensuringinternal audit compliance.
  • Review contract andsupplier agreements before contracts are finalized by legaldepartment.Ensure Capex items are accounted for correctly and Capexexpenditure is in line with budget.
  • Main pointof contact for any SAP related issues.Work closely with thebusiness for financial planning to ensure spend within budget andsupport commercial decision making.
  • Desired Profile

  • Minimum 7years' experience in this field with at least 3years' experience in leading and supervising a smallfinance team.
  • Qualified accountant holding aprofessional qualification from a recognised accounting body (ACCA,CA, CIMA).Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organised, efficient and pro-active.
  • Results driven and self-motivated.Ability to prioritiseand work to tight deadlines with flexibility in a fast-pacedenvironment.
  • PC skills - Proficient inMicrosoft Office with advanced excel skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.Previous SAP ERPworking knowledge with ERP implementation experience is highlydesirable.
  • Arabic speaking candidates withmedia sector experience will be given preference.
