Overview / Responsibilities
Due to anticipated growth throughout 2022, Wood is currently inviting expressions of interest for Project Controls / Planning Engineer with exprience in refining and offshore industry to be based in UAE.
Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) only whilst exact opportunities are being fully determined.
Below are some key responsibilities and duties :
Responsibilities :
Liaise with the client and any contractor Project Controllers as appropriate, to ensure alignment with the project reporting requirements and ensure timely and accurate cost and progress reporting
Reporting of planned and actual progress figures
Facilitate the collection of weekly progress figures from the project team and any 3rd party contractors
Monitoring and reporting against the project critical path providing early warning to the Project Manager of any potential slippages
Reporting of project costs and schedule data
Produce weekly and monthly project cost and planning status reports
Assist in the development and maintenance of Project Work Breakdown Structure for specific scopes of work
Study and understand all relevant documents pertaining to the preparation of plans and schedule
Monitor the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set-up and approvals
Monitor and control cost commitments and expenditures through all phases of the project / assignment
Liaise with Project Accounting and time-capture functions and third parties as required to ensure accurate and timely capture of costs and ensure costs are allocated accurately in accordance with approved project / assignment WBS
Work closely and assist Project Accountants and Billing Specialists in the Billing process and any other cost related queries
Assists with application of baseline and forecast installation unit rates and norms for estimating quantity change impacts
Supports earned value progress measurement
May assist with updates and changes to project quantities and reports on variances to baseline
Maintenance of project S-Curves and Histograms Be able to incorporate changes into progress plans and histograms
Perform progress updates of the project Gantt charts Includes executed changes into project schedule
Monitor current resource needs for the project and programme through analysis of workload at project level
Identify slippages, significant float erosion and raise to more senior team members with suggestions for recover actions
Tracking of and input into the change management system
Follow change management process
Input into the change management system
Attendance at client progress meetings
Assist with the preparation of proposal schedules and CTR packs
Participate and support cost and schedule risk analysis workshops / sessions
Be familiar with and comply with Project Controls processes and procedures
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years experience in the oil and gas industry mainly being offshore downstream
Minimum of 5 years proven capability in an engineering design company
Demonstrated leadership experience and previous track record of successfully working in PMC team
Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working for Wood is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
