Provide guidance and assistance to theFinance Managers over a broad range of tax matters, focusing on taxaccounting and tax compliance (including VAT, Withholding Tax,Corporate taxes and employment taxes) and transfer pricing.
Implementation of new IFRS standards Follow up on all Internal& External Audit recommendations with group companies KeyResponsibilities 1- VAT Compliance a)Contribute to the developmentand implementation of VAT policies, principles, processes andprocedures in each of the Countries where the Group operatesb)Identify and mitigate tax risks.
c)Determine the VAT complianceimplications associated with various business initiatives / proposalsd)Assist in the development and implementation of tax savingstrategies e)Oversee and coordinate with the Finance Managers ofthe business units (BUs) on the following : i.
Review of VAT returnsand other VAT reports for timely submission of returns to theFederal Tax Authority ii.Overall compliance with the VAT laws andregulations iii.
Submission of the reporting requirements related toVAT audits to external auditors and Federal Tax Authority f)Provideperiodic training and mentorship to finance, supply chain and otherrelevant departments in regards to VAT implementation,documentation and compliance g)Work with the Oracle IT team toidentify automated solutions to the compliance process and supportimplementation h)Drive and implement changes required for VATcompliance processes as a result of changes in VAT legislation i)Toact as the single point of contact for all VAT-related activitiesj)Seek clarification on tax laws from Tax Advisors as and whenrequired 2- Corporate Tax Compliance a)Follow up on the timelysubmission of annual tax returns & tax assessments ofCompanies located in Countries where Corporate Taxes applyb)Implement and maintain transfer pricing policies and agreementswith foreign subsidiaries 3- Treasury a)Assist the GFC in buildingand managing corporate banking relationships b)Review of allbanking facilities documentation prior to signatures of authorizedsignatories and maintenance of all updated documentation c)Ensureappropriate utilization of facilities in each of the groupcompanies d)Monitor group fund position on a daily basis e)Monitorcompliance with Group policies pertaining to Banking and CashTransactions in all group companies f)Maintain database of all bankaccounts of all group companies, authorized signatories, onlinebanking platforms 4 IFRS Compliance a) Timely implementation of newIFRS b) Provide required guidance to the finance teams acrosscompanies on IFRS c) Ensure compliance with IFRS in all entities d)Review of all draft audited financials 5 Internal Control a)Followup on implementation of all control issues highlighted in internalaudit reports of all group companies b)Review on a monthly basiscompliance with closing procedures in each of the group companiesc)Monitor compliance with periodic requirements of the GroupPolicies 6 Miscellaneous Ensure timely completion of tasks asrequired by GFC REQUIREMENTS : Educational QualificationREQUIREMENTS : Professional qualification such as CA / ACCA / CPA.
