Overview of duties
In conjunction with the Chief Engineer, helps ensure the smooth running of the hotel's technical installations
Under the guidance of the heat, light and power or repairs and maintenance Chief Engineer, operates, maintains and repairs all aspects of the hotel's painting services and equipment, in accordance with ACCOR standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency of services at all times.
Interacts - cooperates with others in the Engineering Department.
Interacts with other Departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services.
Carries out repairs and maintenance of all interior and exterior decoration as required.
Continually works with the engineering staff to improve and maintain the highest standard of departmental operation.

To provide a courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service at all times, following the hotels Standards of Performance.
To have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of Work to the standard set.
Please note that Master Task Lists are reviewed and changed on a regular basis reflecting change in trends, guest expectations and operating philosophies.
To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub-departments of Engineering Division or any other Department of the hotel as assigned.
To perform all duties and tasks when rotated or assigned to another Department as per Master Task List for that Department.
Ensures that health, hygiene and safety regulations are complied with and applied in the department in compliance with safety and security standards, preventive maintenance plan and HACCP standard.
To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
To ensure that the Place of Work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times
To brief staff on regular work executed.
To handle other duties as and when assigned by the Manager or other Senior Management.
To be familiar with the policies and procedures concerning fire, emergency evacuation, accidents, bomb threats, law and order situations.
To be fully aware and conversant of Accor spirit, values and goals and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
To be fully aware and conversant of Accor environmental charter and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
To be fully aware and conversant of ISO14001 policies and procedures and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
Take over procedure from previous shift
Aware of pending items from previous shift for follow up
Inquiring about extended repairs of p.m. performed during his shift
Getting instructions of p.m. performed during his shift
Checking with store keeper for needed parts or materials
Assuring the punctual staff reporting to work
Briefing staff of previous shift pending items
Distributing tasks and considering priorities
Abiding to policies of maintenance requests procedures
Assuring proper time spent in tasks execution
Distributing and follow up of preventive maintenance tasks
Checking plants log sheet
Checking water treatment log sheet and appropriate action
Checking the central AC log sheet
Random checking of completed maintenance (time & quality)
Reporting the pending requests with comments
Informing the managers of any operation crisis
Informing the managers of any problems with other dept.’s
Registration cold and freezing room’s temperatures and comments
Reporting the building signs and logos conditions
Reporting pending tasks and requests with comments
Hand over procedures to next shift
Transferring any special instructions from Chief Engineer
Applies water hygiene procedures"
