Job Description

Key Accountabilities : The Senior IT Support Analyst is accountable to the IT Manager or IT Support Coordinator for the fulfilment of requirements outlined in this job description.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company's desktop environment.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure network system availability and reliability
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company's desktop environment.
  • Collaborate with existing vendors to evaluate the new technology that is available and make recommendations to management on using that technology.
  • Ensure that network expansion projects are in line with the company's plans.
  • Monitor the performance of the company's desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency.
  • Evaluate applications and software patches for desktop applications to see if they will solve desktop issues.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure network system availability and reliability
  • Monitor network system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
  • Provide Level-2 / 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Specific Additional Duties

  • Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the Company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.
  • Align with IT Manager / IT Support Coordinator
  • Qualifications required :

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. Level or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or similar field.
  • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher.
  • Skills / experience required to do the job :

  • Min. 5 years in industry
  • English language
  • Proven working experience in a similar role or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability in desktop and systems design
  • Proven ability to offer high level desktop support in an enterprise environment
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP / IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
