About the role

The Business Development Lead will be a key resource in establishing a forward looking and agile sales organisation. The role will be responsible for managing overarching business development objectives, such as market and competitive intelligence, strategic relationship building with clients and partners and key marketing and sales initiatives.

As such, the Business Development Lead will need to work with insights gathered both within and from outside the organisation, to ensure that G42 Cloud is rightly positioned at all times.

To fill this role, we are looking for an experienced manager with a strong sales background and excellent interpersonal skills.

We believe that a successful candidate should be highly motivated and driven by a wish to establish G42 Cloud as a key industry player, with a wide professional network within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish the business development function within G42 Cloud and define roles and responsibilities for team
  • Identify and define core interfaces and dependencies towards other teams within G42 Cloud
  • Drive recruitment of business development team
  • Develop and implement business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the organisation
  • On an ongoing basis identify, propose and lead business development initiatives that enhance and optimise the outcome of the company’s sales initiatives
  • Generate new leads and opportunities within previously unexplored market segments
  • Identify and drive cross-selling opportunities within existing businesses and clients
  • End-to-end responsibility for optimising the customer implementation process
  • On a regular basis interact with sales teams and prioritise initiatives
  • On a daily basis interact, coach and steer own team on priorities and new initiatives
  • Continuously assess current sales process to understand process gaps and drive improvement
  • Prepare reports / briefs on initiatives and opportunities and update the Director of Sales on the progress and status of various business development initiatives
  • Contribute in discussions regarding pricing, deal structure and development of new services

  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Candidate requirements Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field
  • Advanced degree or the equivalent in work experience preferred
  • Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within a business development role (in a cloud or technology solutions type of organisation) or
  • A minimum of 10 years of sales / project management experience with strong exposure to technology

  • Proven success in building teams and providing value in unstructured contexts
  • Proven track record of identifying and winning new business opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts / offerings to internal and external customers
  • Knowledge and skills

  • Demonstrated high-level business analysis skills with proven ability to forecast market development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation delivery skills
  • Fluent in English, both speech and writing
  • Proficiency in Arabic is preferred but not essential
  • Personal traits and attitude

  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and outgoing personality
  • Adaptable to change, growing in an environment that is fast paced and constantly seeking to improve under uncertain conditions
