Job Role : Credit Initiation Manager

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and supervise a team of credit initiation officer. Conduct team huddle to communicate unit's requirement. Address the issues highlighted by the team.
  • Provide consistent coaching & objective feedback to the team and encourage participation in development programs.
  • Use influential communication skills, to convince partner teams like Credit policy, Sales etc. to implement changes beneficial to the franchise.
  • Proactively build shared interests and goals for the team in line with organizational goals
  • Seek mutual understanding to leverage shared goals, resources and priorities within the department.
  • Communicate and guide the time as part of change management process.
  • Prioritize and provide a clear line of sight to critical works; ensure team understands as to how initiatives support organizational success.
  • Liaise with partner units to develop and consciously enhance policies and procedures for underwriting.
  • To collate, analyse, infer data around process workflow to identify and remove process bottlenecks. Wherever required, present relevant MIS to management team.
  • Understand policy changes and its impact on the process. Conduct necessary analysis on the process and take necessary action to implement the change without any impact on the business.
  • Develop proper tracking mechanism and score cards for underwriters and verification officers.
  • To drive critical migration and system interface to equip a high efficiency process.
  • Review and submit monthly reports to in-country management committee and APAC region.
  • Monitor unit's control framework to ensure no lapses in the process.
  • Lead the reengineering efforts for CI in the ME region
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver plan numbers for credit initiation.
  • Manage team of credit analyst and adhere to key unit metrics like TAT, Approval Rate, Expenses etc. and identify further opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage Vendor Processes & related SLA.
  • Ensure error free processing and clean QA / Audit.
  • Manage the sales review process.
  • Manage system or process migration on behalf of credit initiation team.
  • Help in ensuring that capacity is in place to perform underwriting within the agreed turnaround time.
  • Help in eliminating errors through process improvement.
  • Actively participate in the training process and the analyst certification process.
  • Monitor and report any trends impacting business volume (cancelation & rejection analysis).
  • Ensure proper documentation for all CIU related activities.
  • Maintaining knowledge of country specific laws / regulations and ensuring staff adherence.
  • Continuity of business - maintain and test plans on a regular basis.
  • Ensure correct compliance controls are in place and fully utilized.

  • Knowledge / Experience :

  • Proven managerial and re-engineering experience of at least 5 years preferably in credit or operation functions.
  • Experience in Cards or Financial service and fast paced environment experience will be an advantage.
  • Must have good experience in managing stakeholders and partners within risk and sales functions.
  • Should possess good knowledge and experience in working with data.
  • Skills :

  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong understanding of business priorities and criticality of adherence to timelines
  • Effective communication within all management layers and strong coordination skills
  • Strong knowledge on internal and external consumer operation processes
  • Maintaining Citi standards and ethics at all times
  • Awareness and adherence to all regulations, policies and internal audit requirements is a must
  • Must be conversant with underwriting polices. Systems and market practices
  • Thinks and responds flexibly and creatively in the face of setbacks.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Negotiation and influence skills
  • Qualifications :

  • MBA, Advanced degree, Bachelor degree and / or professional qualification with exposure in commerce and accounting methodologies
