Our client is an iconic, luxury boutique resort hotel in the Middle East. As part of a very desirable group of hotels, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team.

Reporting to the General Manager, the DOSM will be responsible for a team of 9 across sales, marketing, e-commerce, revenue and reservations.

With a luxury hotel background, the successful person will have demonstrable and excellent contacts with the high end tour operators and agents in Europe, especially in the key feeder markets which include UK, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Knowledge of the ME / GCC agents & DMC’s would be useful.

Key skills and experience will include :

  • Middle East work experience would be advantageous but it is not essential. However, luxury boutique resort hotel experience is essential.
  • Has in-depth experience of the European and UK leisure market. Knowledge of the developing Russian or Asian market would be very desirable
  • Understands the OTA’s their pricing and commission policies : able to monitor, audit and negotiate as appropriate for the best non-conflicting agreements
  • Fluent in English, ideally with at least one additional European language : German and / or French preferred
  • Good marketing skills : including understanding different mediums and distribution channels to maintain high brand awareness in an ever growing competitive environment.
  • Is an excellent team leader and player, works well and closely with fellow ExComm colleagues there is a good bond amongst the team and in the hotel across all departments
  • Works with and fosters an effective partnership with the hotel’s global representation organisation
  • Good networking skills, able to and enjoys being the brand ambassador whether in the hotel or attending trade shows and sales missions.
  • This would appeal to a DOSM looking for a new challenge or an experienced DOS / Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing, i.

    e. a Nbr 2 in the department looking for a first DOSM. They will be able to demonstrate their integral involvement in managing a team, setting budgets, sales & marketing strategies, action plans, team KPI’s etc

    This would ideally suit someone who is single, married no children / a very young child as they have not included schooling before.

    However, for the right person they may well look at offering this for a child. The salary is decent for the market, plus 2 bedroom apartment, company car plus the usual benefits.
