  • Establish and implement principles and credit policies that are aligned to the needs of the Bank and meet the best practice standards demanded for an effective and efficient risk management function.
  • Participate with business in product development planning including approval of Product programs and Campaign proposals.
  • Ensure that appropriate MIS and portfolio performance analysis is in place to report on timely, complete and accurate basis, relevant information to Senior Management.
  • Develop early loss mitigation opportunity models and process. Practice an objective portfolio management process, which enhances the quality of credit policy, underwriting and collection to industry best levels.
  • Streamline policy and process of portfolios across the bank. Design and plan the underwriting process and structure jointly with the business head and ensure availability of resources to support business growth objectives.
  • Ensure that credit risk exposures are managed within the established limits, appetite and standards and that regulatory reporting requirements are satisfied.
  • Ensure compliance with risk measurement and reporting processes (including, where appropriate, model methodologies) that will facilitate the consistent management and monitoring of exposure to credit risk at the bank portfolio level and across countries.
  • Review the portfolio underwritten periodically and provide feedback / input for policy formulation.

  • Guide and coach Junior team members on an ongoing basis. Develop training modules and ensure timely and adequate training based on identified needs to increase process awareness and productivity.
  • Work with Business to ensure that factors influencing the credit risk quality and their mitigations are properly identified, assessed, managed, monitored and controlled.
  • Evaluate performance of team members; provide feedback on an ongoing basis. Identify development needs and coach them to ensure ongoing capability development.
  • Follow up on the risk of the portfolio preventing its deterioration.
  • Impaired Asset Management : Monitor and liaise with the legal experts and external debt collecting agencies on the progress and follow-
  • up of the impaired / non-performing facilities.

  • Ensure the robustness of the credit scoring system in line with the internal business strategies and external economic environment.
  • Maintains thorough and in-depth knowledge of the current regulatory requirements in the context of credit risk and embeds the requirements in the existing credit policies and systems.
  • Assist the Head of Risk in the development of annual credit risk strategy, plan and periodic MIS reporting to the group.
