The Civil / Landscape Inspector will ensure the contractors are compliant with the contract documents, coordinate on a daily basis with the other teams to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor and process the incoming Inspection Requests and technical submittals, and perform the necessary actions.
General background in civil infrastructure, hard landscaping and G+1 building construction. 10 years minimum requirement.
Good knowledge of pavement construction including base course, installation of kerbs & borders, patterned interlock paving, decorative insitu concrete pavements and natural stone.
Good knowledge of civil related works and sequencing of utility services construction including excavation and filling, reinforced concrete manholes & chambers and associated underground ducting, foundations for street & landscape lighting and signage, drainage and gulleys, water retaining civil works for water features, laying of utility services such as pipework, cabling and telecoms.
Previous experience for the installation of landscape furniture, signage, canopies and small steel structures.
All round G+1 building experience including reinforced concrete & masonry and internal & external finishing.
Material and installation testing.
Land surveying and setting out.
Conversant with inspector duties as a Consultant for inspecting the works on a daily basis to a high standard.
Large past project experience preferred.
Full awareness of HSE best practice on large scale projects.
Specific Skills Required
Good knowledge in basic design requirements, familiar with construction methodologies and finishes and Building Codes.
Experience in Inspections of Hard and Soft landscape public areas for buildings, public spaces and master planned communities.
Experience in projects consisting of street paving, paved pedestrian walkways, water features, signage and wayfinding installation, utility buildings and fencing
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Competent at writing reports can present views clearly and concisely in good written English.
Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.
