The Role Edelman Middle East has an immediate opening for an experienced Digital Account Director to work within our Digital team across the Middle East region, based in our Dubai office working closely with the Digital Director.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive digital / social / mobile media strategies with some of the world’s best-known consumer and corporate brands, working with teams across the Edelman network to integrate digital thinking across the communications spectrum.
The role requires a specialised digital and social media expert who can strategize, plan and direct the digital and social media presences for major corporate brands across the Middle East.
The ideal candidate will be able to stay on top of social media platform features, best practices and techniques and ensure that the client is immersed in the possibilities social media can offer the brand.
They need to be quick-thinking, creative and diligent in their approach. He or she will also be able to demonstrate the value of Edelman’s offerings to clients and lead all aspects of planning and execution.
The candidate will be open-minded and client centric. He or she will lead and / or contribute to the winning of new client business as well as being a mentor to managers and other team members, providing them with guidance on their career development.
They will also be responsible for account organisation, including structure, staffing and training.
Working closely with clients and Edelman account teams to lead the development of digital / social / mobile media strategies
Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence
Drive the development of digital engagement strategies, campaigns and wider digital marketing services, and oversee the day to day activities managed by junior members of the team.
Establishing thought leadership and driving the digital agenda focusing on the key industries in which our clients operate
Play a pivotal role in seeking out new industry technologies, tools and trends that enhance Edelman’s digital offering
Work alongside multi-discipline Edelman teams to infuse digital & social thinking across all the work they execute
Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching and providing feedback
Plan and coordinate digital marketing & communications outreach programs
Lead & drive new business process
Proactively evangelise digital amongst the client base and internally
The ideal candidate must have experience leading a team in designing insights-driven engagement strategies within an integrated agency environment and / or on behalf of integrated client brands.

KEY REQUIREMENTS :
At least 7-10 years’ experience within an agency environment in the digital marketing / communications space
Solid understanding of social media and the digital landscape
Must be passionate about quickly-evolving social media environment
Native level written & spoken Arabic is a must
Be able to develop digital communications and marketing strategies for existing clients and / or new business development and impart knowledge to more junior team members
Possess strong leadership qualities and have in-depth experience effectively managing a group and helping employees grow
Ability to collaborate and communicate with multiple internal stakeholders, including PR, Strategic Planning, Research & Creative
Demonstrate ability to lead and convert new business opportunities
Experience managing finances, budget development, management, and resourcing
Team player who is collaborative & provides an inclusive work environment
Existing understanding of PR would be a benefit
Understand and be able to provide recommendations on digital paid advertising campaigns
Strong client interaction skills, perform well under pressure and be a team player
