Mercer is seeking a Data Lead to join our Wealth Business. The Data Lead is responsible for developing and implementing a data strategy to ensure that the way our member data is stored and managed is market leading.

This will support one of our key value propositions - Service Excellence. It is anticipated that two key areas of involvement for the Data Lead will be in relation to GMP Projects and the Pensions Dashboard.

What can you expect

Take a leading role in the delivery of administration services to our clients, developing and implementing a strategic approach to the way in which data is managed

Ensuring all teams across the Administration business work together to achieve efficiency and Service Excellence

Work with various colleagues across different lines of business to deliver data solutions for specific projects, including GMP rectification and equalisation and the Pension Dashboard

Ensure consistent data practices are understood and applied between the various stakeholders involved in these projects

Ensure the roll out and use of our Data Management Tool

We will count on you to :

Develop and implement a strategic approach to the way data is managed

Take responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of data tools and processes used throughout a variety of projects

Be responsible for providing training to the teams that are responsible for data transformation

Be the single point of contact for escalations relating to data

To understand the pipeline of projects and associated revenue

Work with the Operations Lead to agree prioritisation where required

Collaborate with business leaders to continuously improve data transformation practices and make recommendations for improved efficiencies where significant investment is required

What you need to have :

Strong Stakeholder Engagement, influencing and engaging colleagues to adopt new and existing practices, understand issues and find solutions

Proven track record of lean process management

Known as a problem solver and taking ownership to deliver projects as needed

Strong communication skills

Proven ability to integrate continuous improvement into a team ethos

Proven ability to integrate automation / digital into complex data projects

Ability to 'think differently' to traditional ways of doing things

Understands and manages the impact(s) on business risk

Understands the pipeline of projects and associated revenue

Proven ability to support changes in work practices and able to prioritise their own workloads and those of others

Evidence of resilience in driving forward projects to completion

Experience of influencing others including those in more senior positions

Proven experience in proposing business changes taking into account commercial considerations and wider impacts on other stakeholders
