Key accountabilities for the role :
We are seeking for a highly disciplined and experienced Associate Director Claims Consultant to work on our projects in Dubai, UAE
Role Overview :
To take a leading role as part of a team of engineering and construction claim specialists and experts in the preparation and writing of contractual claim documents.
Provide advice, assistance and advocacy to referring or responding parties.
Competent and knowledgeable in the range of normal international ADR processes and methods of determination and settlement of technical claims
Able to work and interface with specialists and experts in technical / engineering matters, contract entitlement, cost and time / delay analysis
To take information and argument from specialist disciplines and prepare high quality persuasive claim documents. Able to constructively challenge and question arguments and data.
Prepared to be flexible and produce iterations and revisions of documents from first draft through to final claim submissions.
Knowledge of planning techniques and forensic / delay analysis techniques and the ability to include such analysis into well written claim documents
Good attention to detail, high standard of writing / drafting skills and high level of competency in Word & Excel to produce high quality paper and electronic documents.
Extensive knowledge and experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project planning softwares
Able to manage, direct, mentor and train junior staff and inspire staff in all Delay related aspects of Contract Solutions.
Arcadis Contract Solutions operate flexibly within the region and as An Associate Director you will be required to work in any of the regional offices or client locations.
To work as assigned by the Arcadis Contract Solutions Head of Client Service for UAE including MEA.
Management of planning matters for claims preparation and assessment including scheduling, delay / EOT and disruption analysis.
Drafting the delay part of the EOT / disruption claim including chronology of events and delay analysis narrative
Developing / reconstructing of the works baseline programme
Evaluation of project schedules and records to determine cause, effect and liability for construction delay and / or disruption
Defining the notification requirements under the contract for EoT and checking compliance through project records
Preparing the Delay Analysis using different methods (retrospective and prospective) such as but not limited to As Planned vs As built and windows analysis etc.
To take a pro-active lead role within each claims team
To take responsibility for production of a complete well prepared document within the time scale set
To direct and mentor junior staff as may be necessary
Able to lead and direct a team of junior claims staff for entitlement, time and cost analysis

Experience, Qualifications & Person Specifications :
Degree qualified (BSc) in construction, surveying or engineering related discipline
Demonstrable training in claims and disputes
Minimum of 10 years clear direct experience in the preparation of construction based contractual claims and complete documents.
Higher academic and professional qualifications would be an advantage (e.g. LLM, FRICS / MRICS, FCIArb / CIArb, etc.)
Ability to work without supervision and to lead, direct and manage junior staff.
High standard of written English and communication skills.
Good standard skills in MS Office.
Skilled to producing persuasive narrative.
Good understanding of the principals and practice of contract entitlement and obligations.
Good understanding of cost and time issues under construction contracts
Good understanding of delay analysis and related extension of time matters
Good knowledge of FIDIC and FIDIC derived contracts and UAE standard forms
Able to take and analyse specialist and expert information, make decisions and be accountable for their own work.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines on high value, high profile critical claims
Flexible and mobile with good team skills
