Job Description and Requirements

The Department / College The College of Education, accredited by NCATE / CAEP, is currently in the process of expanding and deepening its existing Baccalaureate and Master’s Degree offerings, and in developing robust applied research and professional development programs directly relevant to schools in the UAE.

The college has an Early Childhood Education Center on its Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses, providing a research-based model for early childhood education that features bilingual language acquisition (English and Modern Standard Arabic), discovery and numeracy development, and parent education.

The Opportunity The Department of Education Studies at Zayed University’s College of Education (Dubai) seeks energetic and innovative Teacher Education adjunct faculty able to contribute to the ongoing development of the UAE’s education system through teaching, research and engagement with UAE schools.

Faculty will contribute to the preparation of graduates at Baccalaureate and Master’s levels who will become exemplary teachers, school administrators, and future leaders able to serve national and regional development in one of the world’s most dynamic countries.

The Responsibilities The College seeks Teacher Educators at the Associate Professor rank with expertise in Education Studies or a related field. The Requirements

An earned Doctoral Degree in Education Studies or a related field.

Candidates should have a record of publications and a significant research agenda in evidence.

Candidates must be qualified and experienced in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. Pedagogical expertise with young learners is preferred.

Experience in working with second language learners is a plus, and professional development experience in K-12 is valued.

Although not a specific requirement, particular consideration will be given to faculty who have experience in international or bilingual environments, or who can work effectively in both English and Arabic.
