Atthe moment, we are looking for a Junior Sous Chef Japanese Cuisine to join our enthusiastic, warm andfriendly Food & Beverage Kitchen team at Crowne Plaza Dubai .
As a Junior Sous Chef Japanese Cuisine , under the instruction & directionof the Executive Chef and within the limits of the hotel policies andprocedures, you will manage, control and supervise the team members assigned inyour shift.
You will be responsible for the proper efficiency and profitablefunctioning of the kitchen section which has been assigned to you.
Youwill organize the outlet food orders and requisitions by checking to confirmthat the contents are actually required, you will work closely with the ExecSous Chef to determine quality and quantity of food materials used with a viewof eliminating waste and spoilage.
Youwill establish quality standards for all menu itemsand for food production practices. You will make suggestions to Executive Chef for improvements, with thetarget to have more satisfied customers and / or increase volume of business orprofit.
You must possess knowledge of Japanese Cuisine in regards toingredients, method of cooking and presentation.
You will be responsible for constantlymaintaining a high standard of food preparation by checking it for taste,temperature and visual appeal.
You will managethe team to ensure compliance to food & safety, hygiene standards arefollowed. You will maintain the upkeepof your kitchen section, and ensure all your team members are well trained, hasbeen assigned their specific duties and you will establish and promote a goodteam work within the kitchen, service, stewarding and F&B supporting departments.
You will be responsible to check maintenanceof all kitchen equipment’s located in your section and make any attempt toprevent the damage or loss of the hotel property.
Preferredcandidate will have a degree or certificate in culinary arts and four years ofworking experience in same role, with at least one year in a managerialcapacity in 4 or 5 star hotels, or equivalent combination of education andculinary / kitchen operations experience.
Has good command of English language, highlyresponsible & reliable, ability to work cohesively with fellow colleaguesas part of a team, ability to work well under pressure in a fast pacedenvironment, ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm andcourteous at all times.
