Job Purpose :
Responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of loan transactions, with focus on MEA financial institutions.
Managing regular and effective client interaction, and providing optimal solutions to target client needs.
Supporting the DCM-L&B marketing efforts and transaction execution, in addition to providing resource assistance to the GCF teams as and when required.
Ongoing preparation & update of marketing material, transactions documentation, DCM related strategies and reporting, as and when required.
Meet annual targets as provided by the Head of DCM-L&B and Head of MEA LCM.
Key Accountabilities :
Generic Accountability :
Perform global credit markets research on weekly / monthly basis and preparing pitch-books including having calls with clients in negotiating and structuring head of terms and detailed credit analysis
Extracting economic, technical and other quantitative data from Bloomberg & Dealogic systems, to allow the DCM-L&B to be better equipped for meetings and when preparing pitch-books as required
Develop a good understanding of the loan market dynamics in the MEA region, particularly for FIs, to be fully abreast of pricing trends, key terms & conditions, etc.
when negotiating with clients and internal stakeholders
Coordinate and lead DCM-L&B related structuring, documentation (Islamic and Conventional) and manage in deal execution on sole or joint basis
Assist other senior team members in managing deal requirements / execution and closing DCM-L&B mandates to ensure completion of transaction reviews / post-deal analysis
Ensure appropriate internal and external documentation and approvals are secured, and proper filing system is set up for each competed transaction to comply with FAB internal and external audit and compliance requirements.
Cross-selling on immediate GCF ancillary business avenues including co-ordination role, documentation bank, structuring bank role etc.
Coordinating with credit , coverage, legal, FAB Shariah, and others as relevant stakeholders (including advisors and consultants)to finalise the credit approval process in a timely manner
Coordinate with agency, syndication, distribution and portfolio management team for the smoot execution of syndication and lodgement of documents to facilitate closing
Specific Accountability :
To generate specific revenue and volume targets as defined by Head of DCM-L&B
Manage all transaction aspects of deals / clients assigned from origination / structuring to documentation and execution, maintaining high professional standards
Have good knowledge about the sector and credit strength and viability and be abreast with the changes in macro and micro economic impacts
Develop core client origination activities building productive relationships with clients at a senior level (CFO / Treasurer / Head of FI), with particular emphasis on FI & Sovereign clients from the MEA region.
Maintain good relationships with Senior Executives, Legal, Credit, Finance, CAD, Operations and other team members
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in finance / Business or related discipline. MBA / MSc (preferred) and / or professional qualifications (e.g. CFA / CAIA / ACCA)
Minimum Experience :
Preferably 10 - 15+ years of experience in the Investment Banking, Loan Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets or related activity
Strategic thinker and agent for change, with industrial sector expertise
Sound knowledge of investment appraisals, financial modelling (valuations) and legal / regulatory environments
Proven track record of delivery against financial objectives
Fluent in English & Arabic (advantageous). Knowledgeable of local, Middle East and International markets
Good interpersonal, motivation, resource management & marketing-orientated skills
Experience of handling IB key clients and winning new mandates with them
Must cooperate with other members of the team a 'team player'
Displays original thinking and creativity - follows policies and procedures
Generates suggestions for improving work and being able to work under pressure
