Summary of Responsibilities :
Assists in maintaining Microsoft Windows applications and systems including but not limited to : Windows 7, Windows XP;
Windows Server / 8; and Microsoft Exchange.
Assists the network & communication administrator with Maintaining routers; adding / terminating users; assigning rights and access;
resetting passwords; establishing email addresses; assessing and reporting operational status; performing backups and restores;
including performing routine preventative maintenance.
Assist colleagues in understanding and using the technology available within the hotel.
Establishes, documents, tests and communicates short-term and long-term emergency procedures.
Ensures compliance with all software licensing agreements and safeguards software media and associated licenses.
Working with the Director of IT and ensures that all company IT related Standard Operating Procedures are implemented, monitored and updated accordingly.
Presents and implements technological alternatives to streamline functions and improve productivity.
Maintains and tests the technology disaster recovery plan along with the IT team.
Responsible for troubleshooting workstations, networks, software applications, phones, copiers and other technologies.
Responsible for maintain updated inventory of all hardware & software in the property on a timely basis.
Keeps updated with the latest industry trends and new product in the market.
Continually strives to improve self; knowledge & skills.
To maintain HSIA including Wi-Fi where appropriate, as per brand requirements in order to generate revenue to the hotel.
Actively participates in all hotel energy saving and recycling initiatives. Attends monthly departmental meetings and daily briefings as required.
Ensures that the appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniform and appearance are maintained at all times.
Strictly adheres to the IT Policy on Confidentiality and Ethics.
Equipment installation and configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of network, hardware and software
Ensures optimal availability of the computer systems and network installed.
Investigates all network and hardware malfunctions; notifies and coordinates maintenance service with contractors; assists in problem determination by observing and noting problems, keeping and researching logs, and identifying patterns of problems;
ensures that all equipment is in proper working condition.
Establishes and maintains user accounts, user environments, directories and system security and security for networks.
Installs, upgrades, and configures network printing, directory structures, user access, security, software and file services.
Performs periodic maintenance of LAN servers and associated LAN hardware.
Administers and performs and / or oversees software and application installation, and upgrades.
Ensures timely user notification of maintenance requirements and impact on system availability.
Maintains confidentiality with regard to the users and company information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
Ensures that all safety, health, security and loss control policies and procedures and government legislation are adhered to.
Fills in as needed in operations to cover absences, vacations and staff shortage.
To carry out any additional tasks and projects as requested by the Director of IT.
Previous IT Experience is an asset
