Job Responsibilities :
Product Quality index. - Oversees Plant and Co-packer operations ensuring the Quality and Process monitoring and control points are consistently adhered and within specifications resulting process and product compliance with local, international, regulatory standards and legislation authorities
Reduced customer complaints - Oversees customer / consumer inquiries
Customer satisfaction index. (Removed / replaced)
Spearheads in the implementation of strategic projects that contribute to the continuous improvement of the business, quality, and people.
Quality, Food Safety Certification and Compliance such as :
ESMA UAE / Turkey / Oman.
FSSC 22000 + PAC 220 UAE / OMAN.
Oversees Food Safety, Quality and HSE Certifications i.e. Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, Food Safety Management System (Food Safety System Certification -
FSSC22000), OSHAS, and EMS that are mandatory from UAE Government and applicable regulatory authorities.
Customer Audit and GMP Compliance - Oversees internal audits against FSMS standards in each area. Oversees quality / food safety documentations up to date as per legal / company requirements.
Oversees health checks for all sites and warehouses.
Oversees GMP and Food Safety inspections, root-cause analyses, monitors NCRs. Oversees non-conforming materials and products are identified and with proper disposition
Regulatory Food Safety Compliance. - Oversees Food Safety pre-requisite programs ensuring consistent regulatory compliance.
Integrates action plans for improving its implementation. Reviews and approves specific CCPs and OPRPs.
New Innovative Idea Generation.
Liaises with ingredient and material suppliers for new product development and commercialization :
Development and formulation of new innovative beverages (NCB Juice, CSD, RTD, tissue products, etc.).
New supplier development for concentrates and other additives.
Shelf-life analysis for new products.
Control drink sample preparation for new product.
Identification and development of substitutes for existing ingredients.
Identification of ingredients and their respective regulatory approvals, to blend the innovation beverages.
Suggests improvements of existing processing and filling options.
Development of new process concepts for production optimization, yield improvement and develop guidelines for sequencing of manufacturing activities on the shop floor.
Identification and evaluation of improved industry processing and filling that will improve the existing operations.
Expands the existing portfolio of juice, nectar and drinks
Conducts sensory analyses.
Addressing constituent / process / formulations / stability of existing product portfolio.
Review of project monetary implications.
Identifies and evaluates industry improvements and changes of processing and filling that will continuously improve the existing operation.
Reduced incidents Lost time / recordable incident TRIR / LTIR - Oversees the occupational safety, health, employee welfare, and environmental management system that ensures compliance to company and regulatory requirements.
Civil defence compliance. - Liaises with the regulatory, customer, and Company sources to facilitate compliance with various legal, business and client requirements.
Acts as regulatory point-person pertaining occupational safety, health, and environmental compliance. Attends regulatory inspection visits pertaining HSE matters.
Oversees and facilitates HSE permits, concessions and notices.
Enhancing knowledge and skills of cross-functional work force - Oversees trainings on Cleaning and Sanitation, Calibration, Consumer Response, Sensory Evaluation, Laboratory Management System, Analyst Proficiency Testing, QA Refresher Course, Food Hygiene, Proper Product Storage and Handling.
Implements the training requirement needs to develop the capabilities of the QA staff and other functions.
External subject related training - Determines, recommends and oversees external trainings covering all cross-functional work force
Environment to people working in cordial atmosphere without stress i.e. Quality output
Oversees HSE activities, and ensures that corrective actions are implemented, where necessary :
Reviews accidents and near-miss incidents and formulates preventive and corrective actions, and recommendations.
Ensures regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency.
Reviews records of such drills, providing recommendations for emergency response improvements
Oversees that operations employees, contractors and site visitors receive HSE inductions for their operations.
Reviews written HSE reports, statistics and presentations related to HSE performance.
Reviews HSE improvement proposals stating the non-conformances, proposed corrective actions, required resources for corrective actions, and plans of implementation.
Reviews the root cause HSE complaints put forward by staff members, customers, clients and contractors.
Other HSE compliance modules
Education, experience and skills :
B.S. Degree in Chemistry(or Masters), Chemical Engineering, Bio-Chemistry, Food Technology, Dairy Technology or any Science-
related courses (preferably Food Science).
Minimum 10 years FMCG beverage manufacturing experience (NCBs and CSDs) with supervisory experience
Thorough knowledge on Manufacturing Process (NCBs and CSDs), and Quality Systems implementation.
Thorough knowledge in preform and closure manufacturing.
Hands on experience with NCB and CSD products and filling options and developments within the industry.
Updated with regulatory requirements and specifications for NCBs and CSDs.
Experience and practical knowledge on industrial safety and environmental management.
Thorough knowledge in Wastewater Treatment QA.
Updated on HSE regulatory requirements and specifications in UAE and Oman.
Thorough knowledge in process equipment technical specifications
Experience on fruit / drinks / tissue industry, an advantage.
Technical expertise in preform and closure manufacturing.
Proven track record of supervising end-to-end product development process.
Practical experience of working in a similar industry in a manager capacity for a period of not less than 1 year, or experience not less than 1 year in training, education, consultancy or research in HSE.
